Customer service texting?

In our busy lives, I find texting much simpler than a phone call or an email, yet the big players such as GoDaddy only offer "chat" not texting directly to my phone. Why is this? Is there a need out there to improve customer service that can be simply done with adding a texting service to a website? Wouldn't this improve the efficiency of call centers?
