   I want to build a facebook style website.. how?
   
   I want to build a site that has features similar to some of those of facebook, for example; people log in and have a personal space to which they can update and load videos, blogs, pictures, logos etc.
   i also want a live stream facility for video on there... any help?

   Try socialgo.com and look around for some nice themes. There is a free option, but you can upgrade anytime once your memberships grow.

   i tried that boonex site and downloaded the software, maybe im a bit slow on the go with the site building but i couldn't get it to run properly?

   I found this free Facebook template
   you can find it here:http://www.flashmint.com/wp/2010/06/free-facebook-fbml-template/
   
   I'm sure you can tweak it to your taste using software such as Dreamweaver, if you don't have Dreamweaver you can try it out for their free 30 day trial.

   joomla with jomsocial. check it out, its what I use when Im to lazzy to code it by hand. also look into social engine.
