When using article marketing to get decent backlinks to your hub should you post each article on...
a different site or should you post a bunch of them on a few select sites?
I'm not sure if I completely understand your question, but as far as obtaining quality backlinks, link up with a site that's relevant to your article.
It shouldn't matter which article you choose, but you will probably only get one backlink from that one website to Hubpages usually. So you'll want to get a wide array of relevant sites.
Make your comments somewhat thought provoking, and don't beg people to look at your site. It can sound needy, and it annoys the readers. Plus, the blog owner may have his comments moderated.
Here's a pretty good blog post from a site talking about proper commenting: http://www.mastersofseo.com/comment-blog/
You should post a mix of them on different sites. That means, pick sites that have good pr, and have a decent alexa ranking (there is a lot of activity on that site), and then pick a dozen of those sites to submit your articles to.

Just curious if anyone is using article directories like ezine, xomba and buzzle to drive traffic to your hubs. From what I understand about pageranks, if I write an article for ezine, even though ezine has a high pagerank, my article on ezine will have it's own pagerank...which will be low...
