Even though you may have acquired knowledge of a particular skill in vocational training or college—the real test of your understanding will come from your OJT: On the Job Training. Unfortunately, everyone doesn’t possess the necessary expertise in administering this training. Many times additional mentoring or coaching is needed in assisting the new recruit.
Is this due to the ineffectiveness of the training or the complexity of the job?
I sometimes think that some jobs are of such complexity that it takes lots of reinforcement. Depending of what your vocation is—your job may require you to interact with governmental regulations which are subjective to amendments or hospitals that require rigorous procedures.
Also, just because a person does a job well doesn’t necessarily mean he/she can teach it to others properly.
