    HR Professionals:

This is an actual posting found on Craigslist's employment listings.  Is this a legally acceptable criteria for employment?

How would you verify the applicant's most important qualification?

No. It is illegal to discriminate on basis of sexual orientation. It could have said "Gay preferred" I suppose. How one would verify sexual orientation? I don't know smile

A native American guy told me he always thought I was of "the third spirit", which means he thought I was gay.  It made me mad.  Not because I am anti-gay, but because he had me pegged so wrong.  He was supposed to be wise, being a shaman and all.  Maybe, I am gay and I just don't know it.... and I like to **** guys.

Hmmmm, I believe in England that services like the police etc. are required to have a certain number of officers, etc. from all racial backgrounds.

This minimum quota supersedes qualifications or best person for the job.

Maybe they didn't have enough gay people on the staff.
