I found a Lens on Squidoo that's a poll of how Squidoo Lensmasters use Twitter. Interesting information. I would especially take a look at the one question that asks what people tweet: affiliate links, blogs, news, etc.
While it doesn't cover all Twitter users in the the Twittersphere, Squidoo Lensmasters are probably the most similar to Hubbers.
To get an idea of how they use Twitter might help you determine the best way to promote your own hubs or websites.

I cannot believe the amount of lenses from Squidoo, strictly about Squidoo are not only on Hub Pages, but they are found at the bottom of other hubs under Related Hubs.
