Yes, you can work from home and make a living.  I started one of my businesses out of my home.  It is possible, but it takes ALOT of hard work, determination and perserverance.  If it is to good to be true - then it probably is.  Be careful do your homework.

It has taken myself and my partner over 3 years to start making what we call real money.  In fact it is definatly enough for many people to live off of but we work our butts off and never let up so there has never been anything fast and easy about what we do.  However we do love what we are doing.

I have tried almost everything ther is to try online, to make money.
I bought myself a data entry application, nothing!
i signed up for survey sites that promise 3000$ a month, not even $5
i tried ptc, ptr, almost all scams, although at a certain ptc site, i make a lot of money each month, and i keep getting paid.

Then i found affiliate marketing, as a newbie i started with that, and now almost 3 years later, i am making a nice income every month from home. no 9to 5 job for me anymore.

Affiliate marketing is a honest business, and you'll know you're getting your money.(take a look at clickbank e.g)

It is hard and it even took me almost 2 years before i made my 1st dime, but when you're in the zone, things will come, just don't give up.

There are but it is not a quick turn around.  It takes time, it takes planning, it takes patience and it takes a lot of hard work.

Not sure I can add anything more to a very thorough thread on this topic.  Suffice it to say, that I make a living for me and my family through the internet, and I'm convinced anyone can do the same.  It does take lots of hard work in the beginning and a willingness to try different things.  It is not a get rich quick deal by any means.  The key is to have a solid idea or product that others are already interested in before you launch off into cyberspace.

Sorry to hear about your friend's situation.  Has it been resolved?
