I love my first main Blog, it is not fancy, it has really been an online journal of my journey to making money online, I still make money from links I have from way back, It just sits there for me making money!

You have got your blog, you have set up Google adsense (a nice way to earn some extra money from your Blog)

If done right, this is one of the easiest and fastest ways to make money online without spending money or paying anyone. We are in the business to make money not spend money!

Money does not come easily, you need to work at it, and many bloggers who start a blog, see nothing and give up within the first couple of months. (thanks that means more room for me...In other words Do not Give Up!) I can show you how do do it, but it is up to you to put in the time and effort required.

I admit, hands up! I still do not completely understand SEO, but luckily for people like me, Google look for Freshly updated and relevant, quality material that is going to solve a persons problem. So If you continue to add and invest time in your Blog, then Google will pay attention to it.

The dreaded 'keywords' they are what gets your page noticed, the crawlers crawl your page looking for these keywords. Each website is scanned for the relevance to the search being performed.

Be warned sprinkle your keywords over your webpage, or you could be banned for keyword stuffing.

example: I want to find Leather Aviator Jackets, I have only 1 page dedicated to different types of Leather Jackets, but on my Blog I have links to this page, Google loves it and has sent lots, lots, and lots of people to this page... was it my master of SEO, no I had just made a page about Leather Flying Jackets and where you could buy them.

I have had people click on the link on my blog directing them to this page, and they have gone on to buy. Do you see where this is going?"

You are constantly directing people to your sales page, whether that is your website, article page or blog.

You want to have as many pages out there linking to your pages. This is what drives traffic and gets you sales, not just a single Blog page and that is it, walking away and leaving it, that is how people fail.

It also got rated with 2 yellow stars, as the most relevant to that 'keyword' search out of 211,000 results.

And you want to know about sales from this too, well being Brittish we were brought up not to boast about money, but this is one of the highest commission generating pages I have on the web. It is where I learned a lot, my breakthrough, the lighbulb going off, and being able to then put into practice what I had learned, to make more money.

You are in charge of writing, designing and promoting your page, that is a lot of work, yes work.

And that takes time, patience, but unfortunately that is what it takes.

Ask yourself these questions...

Did you have an idea and just start your Blog one day?

Did you hear you could make money blogging, simple to set up and go? everybody else is doing it so I will give it a try too?

Did you jump on in create it and not bother to learn how to blog successfully?

Did you research your idea? (your niche)

Have you followed someone elses idea? (= lots of competition,)

Is your idea unique? (= less competition, more targeted promotion required

I have in total 11 Blogs, yes you read it 11, and each one is completely different to the next. They are subjects that interest me, so I am going to take you though just some of them and we can work out how I have managed

3. Everybody writes about these subjects, how can I make mine stand out and get found?

To go through 11 Blogs would be ridiculous, so I will use my 3 of my oldest but most popular Blogs. (these are now not used but left to show you just how I started)

I knew this was going to be tough category, so although I get a lot of traffic, I actually want people to either click on something that catches their eye, i.e. another article, or click on one of my Google adverts.

On my page Can I get Paid to Write I linked to my Blog, so I was receiving not only a quality back-link (important in SEO), this page was sending people to my Blog, now the secret is that no matter what they find on that page, you want them to find something interesting, It also may not even be what you first sent them for.

It may be a Google ad that catches their eye, it may be another article that they find interesting, you must make sure they do not leave your page through the back button.

Top Tips:

Have you added Google adwords? Have you selected only relevant ads to your Blogs subject, (you can do this in the set up of your Google Adsense) do you have a relevant site you want them to go to? (i.e the Sales Page?)

Blog heading contains the Keywords you are focusing on. (think about what people would be looking for when searching your information)

Your design of your page pleasing to the eye, simple and easy to navigate.

Do you have highlighted products that would help them?

Links to your other work, where do you want to send people next, (Do you have a newsletter you want them to sign up to? What do you want them to do next? (this is called Call to Action)

If you are not a member of Hubpages, I highly recommend you become one, for many reasons, it is free, you can write reviews and send people straight to your Blog, Google loves the quality of hubpages and the pages rate very highly in searches.

It really is simple, think like this, when writing your article, are you "selling" someone something? because it has a huge affiliate commission structure or are you selling someone something YOU LOVE! Try the 2 methods and see which method makes you the most money (Number 2 always wins!)

If you personally endorse that program from a passionate point of view, your reader will love it too, you can add in your own perspective and THIS works when writing articles, trust me!

Please don't laugh at the simplicity of this.

My daughter arrived home with some brightly colored rubber band bracelets, on her arm, when I asked what they were? she said everybody had them, and when you took them off they went back to their original shape...she was excitedly telling me what kinds you could get, and she desperately wanted to find neon ones.

I searched online and found some eventually to buy in the UK. They were cheap as chips, but enough for stocking fillers, pocket money, and an alternative to candy for Halloween (sales went through the roof with these at Halloween)

I thought if I had trouble locating them so would other people so I built a single page on SillyBandz It took me an hour or so, I published it and then I promoted it online. ( I will talk about promotion later)

Now this will never win any awards however if you look at it, I have included the harder to find Silly Bandz, and the Justin Beiber collection. This page has had the highest views, and most sales from this page, it just sits there and does what it is meant to, points people in the right direction for Buying Silly Bandz in the UK, people then search Amazon through my affiliate link and buy, if not I make a reasonable amount in adsense revenue on this page.

I achieved what I wanted. Either I make a sale or I get a click from adsense.

Hot Topics don't last long, however they are a great way to get in on the action, think of all the kids that are searching for the trend at the time!

Case Study: my husband is on the large side, not fat as such, he is an ex-ice hocky player, so you can imagine the problem he has trying to find clothes.

He loves Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and wears a lot of their clothing range, however we were really struggling to find his size. XXXL MMA clothing in the UK, and other fighting apparel.

He complained that it was ridiculous how much he had to jump from place to place to find his size only to find out they did not stock it. And I knew from experience trying to find him Christmas and Birthday presents were a complete nightmare.

He asked me what we could do? I can't believe I had never though of it before, here it was an original idea right in front of my nose.

So we built our very own MMA eStore, in affiliation with UFC and Amazon.

My hubby wanted his name on it of course.

An interesting observation:

When I published this, I rushed it, my husband just wanted to see it online, and I would do the promotion the next day. The only thing I did was ensure I had added it that night to Google, Yahoo and Bing directory.

The next morning, out of curiosity I was playing around and I was amazed to see we had already 105 page views, I rushed over to our stats page and indeed the Direct links being clicked on were the t-shirts.

How did they find us? (do you think it was luck, or just a good idea? I actually cannot answer this, but sometimes when you just do, and don't go overly into it, it just happens, I actually think Google is becoming more human!)

We had used keywords that people were looking for in our title, description, we solved their problem by collecting everything in one place, not all over like what we found. Yes we minimised our customer range, by keeping it in the UK, but that was our problem we could only buy these t-shirts, from America (or so we thought) and it cost a fortune for shipping.

My husband is also a member of many forums for Mixed Martial Arts, and as he joins in to conversations, he can send people with the same problem to his (my) MMAclothing Store (Remember these sites are obselet now but they are WHERE and HOW I started on my learning to make money blogging.

Promotion of your Page - Traffic - fine tune your niche

You want to make money - Find your "niche" (what are you focusing on) You want lots of visitors a day to your page, tall order? or is it? as the great company Nike say "Just do it"

Don't dismiss obvious or silly ideas (look at silly Bandz! crazy traffic, great adsense revenue) in the same turn do not dismiss the more expensive items either yes this is

Choose a FREE publishing platform such as Squidoo to write about your niche and direct readers to your Blog/web page. You will be surprised how many people want to see what else you do, people are skeptical they want to know you are a real person. Build trust with your visitors. Be open, say and this is what else I do.

As I showed you on the MMAclothing, promotion was very little, so it was down to the content, relevance and correct keywords used, that was the success of this site.

However there are ways to help your site be found, help people to find your site and build quality backlinks by following these basic rules.

Provide Quality, your own unique view, your experiences, answer customers (that's what I call people who will come to my page, because they will buy, maybe not a sale, but a click of an advert still generates income), Target your audience, (join forums etc about your subject) Give them a reason to be reminded of YOU or YOUR page.
