50,000 Views As Of June 1, 2015
Perspycacious' Perspicuity
For all of his handsome glamor,
and elocution without a stammer,
the writer who writes,
as the best fighter fights,
chooses words like carpenters hammer.
Seeing us believing....
Another milestone: 50,000 views of 816 Hubs And 217 Featured....
Only 706 of my 816 Hubs are currently visible. The rest are currently unpublished by my own choice.
But having more than 1 out of four as featured Hubs is satisfying, as is an average of 61 views of each Hub (some more, some less, of course.)
We won't go into what all that means in terms of earnings on HubPages, as HP rather frowns on that, except in cases where the earnings are fantastic. Mine are not what I would so describe.
I once asked a poll question as to what motivates Hubbers to be publishing here on HubPages. The two highest scoring answers were the friendships of peers, and the potential mentoring here that has the potential to improve the quality of items published.
Certainly those were and remain two of my own satisfactions.
It is all well and good to write day after day in an endless stream, which few writers do by the way. But having a periodic feedback from outside the circle of the desklamp gives me the satisfaction that keeps me striving along at my own improved pace.
I hope that in the process I may have made a comment or two, or written something that made at least a momentary impression that had meaning for a reader or two.
For the satisfaction I have derived from my efforts and from your 6,920 viewer comments, I thank you and I am in your debt.
Oh, to answer your unspoken question, my "most viewed Hub" remains How Long Do Representatives and Senators Usually Serve Once They Are Elected? I chose some months ago to unpublish the runner up which dealt with the 2012 Election runner up.
If reaching your own 50,000 views seems a daunting task, forget it. There are other Hubbers who have had that many views in a year, while it took me 44 months (if my math is better than my writing.)
What is ahead? In the process I have finished 11 more books in addition to the two I am publishing in June.
Writing has become a habit. I am still striving to make writing well a habit, too.
