Updated on February 3, 2014

Many people spend a lot of time and effort on how to make money from Google Adsense on Hub Pages. It doesn't need to be this difficult, people! There are other sometimes easier ways to learn how to optimise Adsense and make an income from your web or hub page content. So this Hub will do just that. This is Cheeky Girl's Video Guide to making money from Google Adsense. I have selected some of the best videos on the net that honestly show you how to do this. Most of what you will learn is in the videos here. Let's begin!

The placement and position of Google Adsense on your hub page or website or (blog even!) can make all the difference. Below, is Darren Prowse, famous for the Problogger website and blog which he posts, and he talks about the changing of placement of his Adsense and how his earnings went way up as a result of that change.

This is important for anyone using Google ads on a blog. Much of our content now comes more so from mobile devices like iPads, iPhones and smartphone devices than PCs any more. So the way ads are shown is very changed. Big ads that appear on a web browser of a computer will be even bigger when they appear on a mobile device, due to the smaller screen size. So bloggers have cottoned on and are making ads appear in smaller blocks. What size you use is up to you. But the biggest tip here is to make sure your ads are in the article you have on a blog page now. the ads on the side bar are not as easily on a mobile small screen. So putting the ads in with the text is better or at least amongst the text but in a way that makes it stand out.

So what about Hub Pages? The good news is that Hub Pages does a great job of placing our Google Adsense on our pages for us! But you will truly appreciate this when you see this video below.

Many people who start off creating brand new Hub Pages complain about not making enough money from them and they notice that Google Adsense isn't paying out the large piles of Cash they were expecting. Yes, we all had that in the beginning too! But I realized that I was not doing things right. There are ways of using Google Adsense properly to get the most from it. Are the das being linked to your analytics in Google Adsense? Are you experimenting to see what locations on a page work best, and yield the most results? Are the ad appearance and colour and size a factor - or are your ads too invisible? I want to show you this video from a very smart lady who knows a lot about how to make solid earnings from that Adsense, and she addresses the mistakes we commonly make. More information below, but first - check this out.

People are asking lately in the case of Google Adsense, why their and why lots of other people's earnings are down and half of what they ought to be. That is a good topic to have here and so Lisa in this video will deal with this. Thankfully, if you find your earnings decreasing in Adsense, there are simple reasons why, so watch this video and fix the problem. Don't be disheartened. If a web page is not earning you income fro the ads, look again at your content. Look at the ratio of text and information to ads. Google limits most web pages to just 3 Adsense ads, for reasons to do with content. They need to know that you have some! It's the same on Hub Pages.

Is your content up to the standard? Is it unique, relevant, evergreen, fulfilling a requirement so that people would look for and use your content in some way? Does it have a purpose that makes it not just useful in some way but also findable in a search of a major search engine?

By now, you will notice the word "Niche" mentioned a lot. That is because having a niche makes the difference between earning lots and barely earning anything. If you have looked at my profile page on Hub Pages, you'll notice that Hubs I wrote on jobs and interviews all look similar and have common artwork in them. It is all about Niche! I love that word. Now watch this video.

I was surprised by the video above and what it says about some certain companies. But it is honest information. I am a big fan of this woman, since she talks about how she has made her money online. I cam across this gem about some little so-called "Secrets" behind her success. It's more of a brief history about the way back then times of the beginning of the decade for online earners, and how that compares to the present where ways of earning have changed and and continuing to change. You get a sense of the "then and now" of general blogging and online earning as well. I don't want the videos here to go too far off message, but this is worth checking out as it clears up some myths about Google and things like The Open Directory or DMOZ. Have you ever tried to register a hub page or website or blog on DMOZ? Thought so. Then watch this video.

Google Ads heatmap.

This is the official Google Ads Heatmap that is available from Google that shows where the best locations for ads are on a typical web page. As you can see, the darker the ad, the more heat or more attention it generates from views on the page, because of it's better placement. These guys went to the bother of finding out the best places on your pages for putting ads. This is kind of done for you here by HubPages on this site. But for your own blogs and websites - this map tells you a lot.

You should experiment with ad locations on a web page. See what locations work best for you. Every website or blog is different, because of what is deemed "content". How much of it is text and how much is visual? You see what I mean? Different pages will "read" differently.

Also experiment with different sizes of ads. With Adsense working on your own pages that you own or have more ads control of, you can try different sizes and colours. Adsense lets you personalize the way text colours appear, to make it style or format with a colour code or set on your individual website. It makes a big difference.

They say you should not let ads ever compete with your content. This is very true for content creators. That is you right there. Yes, have ads, yes have banners even. Yes - have links. Have backlinks, and do what works. But don't smother it in butter. Don't over-advertise on the page you create. Less can sometimes be more. Gaining revenue happens over time and it can be months before you see results. There are other ways even on Hub Pages to earn revenue from other ads systems - like Amazon, Hub Pages program or eBay. But those are other systems...

Never stop promoting your content but do not over-promote either. Remember that social media like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube, Pinterest and LinkedIn all can help get your message out there. StumbleUpon and Digg are great social bookmarking ways to recommend your best content so others can share it.

Remember to network with the people and businesses if necessary, in your niche or area. Remember that guest posts can gain you traffic. So too can Press Releases, Youtube videos based around your niche or specialist interest. And following solid advice in Search Engine Optimization. Google Adsense should not be a tool you merely plug in, switch on and leave running in order to do a job. That sounds like an electrical appliance. Google is more specific, and also can - to newcomers - be complicated. Use Adsense wisely, and in accordance with their simple to follow rules to generate income from your traffic and content. Your content and your niche will decide a lot for you. Remember, you cannot make a good meal out of bad ingredients.

I truly hope that you have learned something from these videos on Google Adsense. This Adsense is not impossible to make money from. I am making money from it, and so can you. We all have to start somewhere. Sometimes it can be better sitting and watching people who have already gone out there and made the money and used Google Adsense to boost their income, just so we can learn how it is done. Some of the people in the videos above have had a little extra help in some ways and they share tips. I have become a convert to the Youtube revolution and people have their own "Channels" on there now and they are generating money from it. There are many ways to generate an income from the web, and Google adsense. I hope this hub has been of some help to to you. Please let me know.
