As most of you know on Monday night December 20th, DCSO K-9 Officer and close friend Chase Johns collapsed from an aortic aneurysm. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency open heart surgery. Chase was given only a 1% chance of survival but he has now been released from the hospital. The road to recovery will be a long one for him. Prayer is a powerful thing and it is the greatest gift you can give someone in need but as friends we can also offer understanding, compassion and encouragement.

Several people have come forward asking for ways to assist Chase and his family. A close family member of Chase’s has stated that it would be a great benefit to them to have prepared/frozen meals so that Jacqueline can take care of him, Zach (12yo), Marybeth (10yo), Kaden (2yo) and Baby Johns (Jacq is 19 weeks along). This will also allow her to get some much needed rest.

Upon speaking with the Sheriff, he suggested that we send out a notification so that all efforts can be better coordinated. If you are interested in donating money for food please contact myself (678-859-6369) or Theresa Holtzclaw (706-974-1498). If you are interested in donating food or food items please keep in mind that Jacqueline is allergic to peanut butter and lemons so anything containing those items should be clearly marked.

Also, United Community Bank has a special account open for Chase and his family, this is to help offset any extra expenses they may face, such as medical bills, prescription costs, child care etc. You can mail donations to UCB 109 Hwy 53 W Dawsonville, Ga. 30534 or call 706-265-3232. You can also go by any UCB and ask to donate to the Chase Johns Ga. account.

This will be a blessing to them in their time of need, any help will be appreciated and may God bless each of you.

Thanks!

Donna & Theresa

Thank you my friend,The whole town come out for my kidney transplant as well. We are older cops a special breed of cop that will soon no longer be around in society. As usual we are being replaced to fast the business is no longer about experience and wisdom. We have fallen into a numbers game just like a business. Its up to the younger guys to adhere some of the old ways and merge them into this modern society. We need both sides to win. People and cops don't need a division line between them. Have a great day my friend and thank you so much.
