Free Stuff Scam On Craigslist

Free Stuff On Craigslist?

Free stuff scam on craigslist? With all the recent craigslist scams, you'd never think that there is a scam behind someone giving away something free. A friend of mine recently went on craigslist to purchase a computer and while browsing the site she went into the free stuff category. She saw an ad listing several boxes of U2 shirts for free, being a fan she emailed the person giving them away, it took 24 hrs to receive a response then the email stated that the shirts were already gone but she could still get hers by going to a certain website. The website she was directed too did indeed offer the shirts but she had to take surveys and complete like seven offers which she refused. My friend contacted the person who placed the ad telling him what a rat he was for doing that. This person was simply trying to make money as many are doing on the Internet but his method of false advertising is definitely not going to get him anywhere.

I wouldn't suggest getting something of use free on craigslist because more than often you have to go pick it up, there is a certain danger in going to someones home that you have never met to pick up something. If you are going to cruise the free ads you might actually find a few honest people and things you can use but always take someone with you during pickups.

Another tip for getting free stuff on craigslist is to make sure the person is of a reasonable distance so that you do not travel out of your way if a listing is not legit. This has happened to some craigslist users and the people who do it get a kick out of it which is a sick game to play because gas costs too much money these days.

Sex Still Sells On Craigslist

Pimps have now taken there business online, they can sell women's services directly to users with photos and descriptions. The way they do this now is entirely sneaky, instead of using the term sex, they use the term massage. Yes they are offering massages along with other services and the majority of these women look like teenagers, people strung out on drugs. I know that the law has caught onto this but what can they do? They cant simply do a sting on every female or male offering massages because they have no case there,no real proof to offer but they know it goes on. Here is what some of the ads are like in full detail and others just show bodies  with the words call me and listed phone numbers, its insane.

Hi there! Are you stressed out? Do you want to feel the touch of a warm hearted woman? Then let me help. I offer a great massage(this is all I offer please don't ask for anything else) that will leave you relaxed and stress free. I am offering outcalls only, to you in the comfort of your home or hotel....Please give me a call at ... I look forward
to talking to and seeing you:)

@Jim...I doubt you were scammed. They probably just gave them away to someone already and didn't bother to tell everybody else that they weren't available.

I just noticed a scam. There are 2 identical emails from two different people. Here are the following 2 emails.

EMAIL 1:

Hello,

Thanks for your sympathy. God bless you.

I am currently located at Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have already asked movers to bring the piano here from my grand-son's house in Eugene, OR and was going to put up a new ad here in Oklahoma.

Where are you based pls? If you are able to afford the delivery charges I can coordinate the movers to return to OR as I only gave them the instruction yesterday evening, and I'm sure they will request for fees in turn.

I bought the piano for him as his birthday gift last year august. Its a Technics Professional 88 Keys Graded Hammer action Digital Piano. It is two months now since he died and I would like for it to be passed out, as the house will be emptied soon and I myself will be relocating to Winnipeg, Canada where I shall stay with other family members for care.

Please let me know your position maybe I can contact the movers.

God Bless,

Mr Fernandez.

Kyle this one's been around for quite some time now where as they usually want you to send money to the movers or cash a check they send you but you receive nothing.

So I just came across this "free stuff" ads scam on craigslist. I was interested in a free refrigerator and got and email saying:

"Sorry that I didn't reply earlier, I had actually promised this to someone else but she hasn't replied to my email. Are you still interested?

I have an event at my sons school tomorrow but then Ill be around for the next few days. Let me know what works.

Holly"

I responded saying I was interested and to find out where in the city she lived. I get this response:

"Hey,

I am really REALLY sorry. the first person actually replied back, it turns out her first reply landed in my junk folder and I missed it. I feel like an idiot..

You know, if it helps any, Ive been earning very good money from this work from home program and they've just opened up 2 more positions in our area. Basically you make money by posting links online, its very simple and you can just do it while watching TV.

Here's the link if you want to read about it:

http://www.consumerweekly360.com/?article=64103

Ive earned about $600 every week since I've been doing it.. not enough to stop working yet but I actually have some extra money in my checking account lol. My sister is planning to sign up later and these positions usually go fast, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't give the link to anyone else.

Thanks and again, very sorry about the whole mix up..

Holly"

I never clicked on the link because I was suspicious of it... so fast forward a couple days and today I look at craigslist again and there are two more ads for free refrigerators, I then notice that all three of them have this exact phrase in common:

"Email with any questions or interests. Thank You" so I did the following search on Google and discovered there are over 4500 ads on craigslist with this same exact phrase. From what I can tell every single one for a "free" something. Put the following words that are between the dashes into Google and see for yourself.

------"Email with any questions or interests. Thank You" site:craigslist.org--------

I can't believe people these days.

Also in Portland, Oregon. This time a Yamaha piano, grandpa is in Ohio this time. Same grandson story. Shipping to be done through rebecca@myablegod.com. $350 to start 9for starters). I googled myablegod.com and came up with pet scams and overseas apartment rental scams.
