Earning money on Adsense

If you've been accepted into the Google Adsense program then you will now be able to earn revenue utilizing the affiliate program here on hubpages.

If you are indeed new to hubpages and haven't yet pursued such a means of earning revenue here, give the hubpages learning center a try.

The way you will earn using Google Adsense is based on a pay per click through rate, as soon as you decide to monetize your Hubpages account using Google's Adsense affiliate program, the ad's that show up on your hubs will then be fully activated once you've been fully accepted into the program.

It's done in such a way that whatever you title your keywords to be, Google's sponsored Ad's will show up on your hubs based on such relevance to that of the advertisers that payed for the Ad's, which was inputted into Google's Adwords program.

Note: Outside of Hubpages, Google also provides affiliate codes to place onto external website spaces for their Google Publisher's (Adsense affiliates), and so if you join here you will be an affiliate to utilize adsense outside of hubpages as well.

What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is a program that pretty much allows for advertisers to pay for, and bid for advertising space, making their Google's Ad's visible onto these affiliated web locations all across the entire Internet, which is the actual Ad's you'll see on your hub articles as well as on many other websites today.

(You must be a Google Adwords certified member & official website publisher, blog site owner or website owner to join it as well)

Once hubpages viewers decide to click onto such web pages Ad's by Google here, you will earn a percentage of the pay per click value's on your hubs which Google Adwords supplied. This will signal Google's web servers (Where the internet web connections are being served to computers worldwide for cache and rendering purposes) as to the revenue click frequency each time the Ad's are clicked, and Hubpages, as well as Google earns a good piece of the pie as well.

Note: You need not worry about becoming an Adwords member to earn hubpages revenue, this info was supplied here to make things much more clairvoyant as to what the Adwords program is, and how our Google Ad's actually function here on hubpages as well as anywhere else on the web.

Mike, another great hub with very, very useful information. I spent the last couple of weeks going back over my old hubs, doing some tweaking, keyword revision, rewriting summaries, etc. I feel better about my library now. But, I still am confused about how to best utilize my google adsense. Do you just leave the defaults for google in place or have you created custom ad units or custom channels? I haven't found the help features very helpful. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I leave the Adsense alone, I think whats best is tweaking keywords as you've done, and simply allow for time to take its course, if you've done all the other things to the best of your ability.

I wouldn't try to adjust the Google Ad's themselves and I think you can only change how Adsense is serving them from your affiliate account here but don't quote me on that info

The reason why I leave the alone is because Google provided the best relevant Ad's as per your hubs title, so the trick is in your titling, and how useful you made the hub - Commercial quality per say.

Hubbing is tough especially when Google's search engines are bottom lining everything in sight, but we will come out on top once its all said and done, especially those folks who have done their homework, just as you've stated you've already taken care of.

Either way Good Luck! and thanks for the awesome comment, and for the cool visit as well.

As always, great information Mike! I try not to pay attention to the figures and numbers, as you well know. I concentrate on my writing, fine tuning to match up to key terms and titles that may attract more...but first and foremost, it's the writing that has to be of high quality.

Love your work, buddy; keep up the good fight.

Mike, I fail miserably at creating good titles. I use the keyword tool but I think I'm missing the DNA to create a good title. lol Thank you so much for the good advice.

@billybuc Thank bro for the comment, you know that I know that quality is paramount, I do my best to catch any and all errors, I just hope others out here know that Google isn't playing any games, and Hubpages isn't either, especially for the fact that money is involved mostly.

That's why I love to make errors, and to get into editing, and editing and editing like crazy!

When its all said and done however the entire article may appear to turn out entirely different, but I guess that's where to polishing aspects come in with hub optimization & working to make it a stellar hub.

Why try to get back to a hub for correcting it, if you can master each and every hub you publish Right Bill, the very first time duration you have before, and after publishing.

I just wish I knew the magic formula for titling the best titles without using any tools, you know! writing is now my day and night job pretty much Bill, and you know that factor as well. Thanks again Budd.

Great hub Mike...a great intro to using AdSense on HubPages. My Adsense earnings on here are pretty sparse, since I use the Ad Program.

Up and useful! aloha

Fantastic hub, Mike. You know, it occurred to me as I was reading that the simple solution to all of our questions is to thoroughly read the learning center tutorials. But the reality is that in the midst of our excitement, we want immediate answers to get it right and be successful straight out of the gate. We also don't have time to read and study like we should. So we drive you guys crazy with our anxieties. As I told you before, thank you for your patience :-)

Peace.

@chrisinhawaii, Thanks for the comment, my Adsense earnings are very low as well, and mainly because I don't write any commercial hubs, I think I have only 1 out all of them actually, and its just a fruit juicer product review sort of, oh yeah the other is a robot vacuum articles review, but other then that most of my hubs are off the Adsense commercialized mark pretty much.

I will begin soon after I hit 300 hubs a new chapter in hub writing though, which shall merge commercial writing with creative writing for sure, and hopefully the Adsense cash can start flowing in shortly after potential traffic roles on in, we will see.

chrisinhawaii 4 years ago

300 hubs?! AWESOME!

...and speaking of numbers...you SERIOUSLY need one more follower...or one less hahaha! =)

@chrisinhawaii, Thanks for the cool comment bro, yeah I know I think some folks may be playing around with following me and un-following me, who knows, because I seen the number go up and down hovering around it for the last 5-6 days or so, and it does indeed make me wonder, but luckily I'm not superstitious so its all good.

Mike, I appreciate how you broke down the process of Adsense. As a newbie, I have recently been accepted into Adsense and the Ad Program. I'm seeing a few pennies thru the Ad Program, but I don't expect to see anything from Adsense! One question I did have...I received an email from Adsense that gives "tips" and they said I could opt in to show both text and image ads. Is that something that I would have to do under my personal account? Or do I just let hub pages worry about the settings? Thanks again for this thorough explanation!

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

I'm not familiar with performing such a task mpropp, but I do believe it cannot be done via hubpages, because all that can be done here with Adsense is signing up to it.

Thanks for visiting and for your cool comment, I did my very best with the hub and all. Chat with you soon.

Hi Mike,

Excellent hub full of insightful information. I will save this for one I decide to sign up to "make money." I am just testing the waters to see if anyone even cares to read what I write, plus I do have a day job already. Right now, I am interested in sending out a particular message, which would most likely not produce a lot of money as far as Google is concerned, but one never knows?

As always, thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with all of us here. You are the greatest in desiring all to be successful in their endeavors as writers here at HP.

Voted Way up God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

@Faith Reaper, your very much welcome Faith, I do it for me too LOL, but yeah its so imperative to share everything we dig our teeth into today, and if we don't do such a thing, much of the knowledge we possess will go to waste pretty much you know.

Thanks again for your support, Wow! you are a busy bee indeed I am blown away, and super appreciative of your love you've been spreading for me and my hubs recently, and as you do on the regular.

I still haven't been able to wrap my head around the whole Google Adsense thing. The first time it took me a whole year to reach the $100 minimum payment and even with the increase of hubs and subjects will repeat that for this year.

However, thanks for your enlightenment and your compassion and sincereness is felt through your writing.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

Hello @Lady Summerset , thanks for reading my hub here, yeah its not easy to earn using Adsense, but I think if you figure out the social elements and media elements of the web as a whole, then it shall help you fore sure.

I also have learned to develop my Youtube channel, and monetize it there, so if you put into action multiple locations using Adsense over time with enough dedicated efforts of putting out high quality content it shall begin to work for sure.

Keep at it, but definitely try to master your content, that's my best advice I could give Lady. Good Luck!
