How to Increase Your HubScore Easily and Fast by Adding a Photo Capsule

Introduction

HubScore is the HubPages' way of measuring how good your hubs are. It is like a grade on a school test, a score out of 100. And why you want a higher HubScore? According to HubPages, "High-scoring Hubs are rewarded with better coverage and increased exposure while low-scoring Hubs are less likely to be featured on the site." In short, higher the HubScore, better chance for your hub to get in front of more readers, and possibly make you more money.

A high quality hub must have multiple capsules and good content. A good content is a no-brainer, but high quality capsules can be challenging for some writers. In this hub, I will show you how to overcome this this multiple capsules challenge by adding a photo capsule to your hub, thus increasing your HubScore, easily and fast.

If you want to know more about the HubScore in detail, refer to the following hub written by HubPages.

How Does Adding Images Affect HubScores?

First, As you can see on the picture above, I chose 4 of my hubs with the lowest HubScores. They all have mediocre HubScores, all with a HubScore lower than 70. I will add 5 images to each of the hubs, and see how my HubScores will change.

Adding Images to the Hubs

When adding photos to my hubs in this little project, my main focus was two things: easy and fast. Of course, you can take your own photos. But I figured that may not be possible or convenient for some people, so I chose a method that anyone can use: a free stock photo website. A free stock photo website is a website that provides you with photos that you can use for free, without getting into any legal troubles as long as you give the website the credit for the photo. You can google "free stock photos" and you will be able to find many different websites. I used FreeDigitalPhotos.net.

Just go to the website of your choice, and search a term that is related to your hub. The website I used, FreeDigitalPhotos.net, didn't have too many choices for certain terms, but that didn't matter much as I just needed 5 photos. So I chose 5 images for each of my four hubs and added them to my hubs.

Conclusion

I got lazy and waited for more than a month before taking the later screenshot, but I've noticed that soon after adding the photo capsule, the Hub Scores spiked for about one week. The screen shot I took on 12/25 (Yes, I was on HubPages even on Christmas) tells me that the Hub Score eventually comes down to a fair level.

The conclusion? Use the photo capsule whenever possible, but don't over do it, having much more photos than the written content. See that my hub Green Tea Helps to Fight Glaucoma looks like it has more photos than written content, so the Hub Score decreased after adding the photo capsule.
