Hubbers' Help Wanted: Please read my hubs while I'm away.

Making a periodic hiatus on HubPages

I am always looking at this moment...having a periodic silence on HubPages.

I'm not an active contributor on my third year on this awesome writing site due to my busy schedule at our manning agency.

Having a three-year period of being away from seafaring, I find it difficult to find my niche at the Philippine maritime industry, since newly graduates are continuously marching in and out the agencies for scholarships and immediate placement on board international commercial vessels.

So, my writing spree @ HubPages will be staggered as the demand of my work as cook on board ship will occupy most of my time.

Aside from it, internet connection will just be limited on ship's transactions and calls.

If it's fortunate, as we search for broadband signals or wi-fi, I can still publish my hubs. But i'm not that certain.

Anticipating the effects of being absent on this writing site, it would mean;

  • drop on profile Score
  • low rating on Activity
  • absence of new followers
  • low income

The possibilities of those things are apparent as I will find it difficult to publish hubs everyday.

The repercussions are visible if i may not hit my personal target on this site.

The goal of being active and participative will not be meet by yours truly as more and more activities will be launched by HP.

Anyhow, if the support will be overwhelming from hubbers who are following and will be following me, my advance thanks and grateful shout-outs for those who will help this hubber maintain his site.

Hubbers' Help Wanted

With more than 500 hubbers (and counting) believing on the content of my site, my personal appeal is to continue watching my site.

This hubber writes various topics that will interest you, like DIY (do-it-yourself) projects, Life 101, Travels & Places, Food & Cooking, Politics, Parenting, Photography and more.

My interests keep on growing but my time of staying on my hubbing space will be limited as sailing on waters (oceans) and transporting goods will be my present priority.

Using computers on board ship by opening social media account is a BIG no-no.

The scenario is that I will have a slim chance to hub once i go ashore if the master permits to let us have shore leave.

So, I'll write first my accumulated write-ups before publishing it as new hubs.

My periodic hiatus will need a booster coming from the help of other hubbers who believe in my site (its contents and its hubber).

Hoping this appeal will be heard by perrenial hubbers and the newbies, as well.

Thank you for all the help.

The support system on HubPages is commendable.

This hubber started trying to impress HP staff and elites that I can also be part of the upper class of the site.

Little by little my hubs are getting noticed and followers increase.

Some of my hubs made it to HubNugget nominations and others were tapped by local television networks as their sources on documentaries.

Students also based their research report on several of my hubs.

What a good feeling to be associated with this writing community!

Results of my little efforts, earned me some pay checks as my passive income.

With lots of development emanating from the site, some of this hubber's hubs were unpublished due to the site's automatic ratings of being overly promotional, branded as duplicates, having prohibited links and the like.

Even with those setbacks, this hubber hopes that his site will stay longer, not only to earn but to share ideas based from his personal advocacy.

Again, with your help, my site will not vanish into oblivion.

I'll stay optimistic on what will be my fate on this site.

I'll never close my door on HubPages.

I'll be back soon.

I have also thought of a break..but no matter what unless you are among the very top writers things do change. THe staff is brilliant and knows how to keep us writing. If you are a supportive help then others will join in and do the same.

@Sandyspider: Thanks for the support. From time to time, if I can sneak out from my work, I'll be perusing my hubs in order to post answers to comments shared by readers and other hubbers.

@tillsontitan: I'm back after 16 days, but it will not be for long. I'm making the most of my free time and while the signal from the satellite permits.

My thanks to my officer who let me borrow his netbook and prepaid load, too!

I'll be on and off here at HubPages and promise to share what I've seen and learned during those awesome journeys at seas.

Thank you for lifting up my spirit. :)

How was your hiatus? You leave an interesting life! Is it rewarding? A temporary hiatus is good, especially if you have things going on! I like how you were able to notify your friends here that you would be away. I look foreword to reading more!

@AudraLeigh: I'm enjoying it right now, amid intrigues and challenges in my present workplace on board ship. The reward is insurmountable. I can never fathom the depth of the high seas as well as the mixed feelings I'm experiencing whenever I'm on-board ship.

Thank you for dropping by. I t's nice to hear coming from an awesome hubber such as you. :)
