Internet Writing - A Message of Hope!
As a new author on the Internet I have been religiously reading all the Hub Tutorials, Hubs on Hubs, and even posted a few questions to clarify my misunderstanding of certain things. I signed up for affiliate programs and spent some time reading the hubs about how to get traffic to my particular hubs.
So now after only a couple of weeks as an official “author” I earned a staggering 12 cents from HubPages. Now, don’t get me wrong, this is not an article about disappointment rather it is about encouragement. Quite frankly I did not expect to see any money in the first month or two. An added bonus was when I checked my AdSense account and saw an amazing $1.00 for the month!
It should be noted that I have no delusions of becoming a millionaire from writing articles. Actually it is more for the fun of it. Quite honestly I do not know if I consider myself a blogger, short story writer or just a frustrated author.
I also realize that there are hundreds of hubs about hubs! So why would anyone want to read yet another one? The reason I wrote this article was two-fold. First, to let all the newbie hubbers know it will work. It will be a very slow and tedious process but it will work! Make sure you write something interesting or informative! Second, I thought it would be kind of cool to look back at this article several years from now and see how I progressed. Did I stick with it? Am I still making only $1.00 a month?
Only time will tell, but I do see quite a number of successful hubbers that have been on HubPages for several years. They must be doing something right!
