Humor Hubs: Internet Comedy and eLaughs...

Funny sort of a guy...
Funny sort of a guy...

Dear Hubber,

This hub is a way to introduce, or reintroduce, my writing, by providing a simple guide to the hubs I have already written. I am thoroughly enjoying the writing of my fellow hubbers, and at the end of this hub I have selected my personal top three from last year, which I hope you will visit and perhaps follow. Sometimes, the most fun has been the responses to the hubs, often funnier than the hub itself. I am very grateful to my followers for taking the time to vote and leave comments; it is the heart of what makes hubpages such an affirming community.

If you are new to my writing, welcome, and thanks for joining me. I have created four separate hub-series, three of anecdotal humor, one a little more serious, plus a couple of occasional hubs to round out the week…

Dear Hub Reader

If you enjoy any of my hubs, please check out my book,

Homo Domesticus; A Life Interrupted By Housework,

A collection of my best writings woven into a narrative on a very strange year in my life.

Lemon County, California

On Mondays, I write hubs in the “Lemon County, California” series. There is much to “observe” here, and is probably a reflection of many suburban communities scattered all over the world. Other than our “perfect” weather, I talk about driving, acting, sailing, pirates, shopping, and farting in airports…

I'll have to check more of these out. I love to laugh and do appreciate sarcasm.

This is a great way to get links. Good idea.

Keep on hubbing!

eovery,

I thought it might be a good introduction to past work. I get frustrated sometimes when I find a great hubber, but then am overwhelmed by the volume of their work, so I click on a few in a very hit or miss manner. With the humor hubs, they are very often sequential.

Thanks for reading and leaving a note, very much appreciated,

C

Here I thought I had read most of your stuff... totally not-so-much!

You have excellent articles- those that don't teach me something make me lmao! Sometimes I'm laughing as I learn. I'm always laughing while I cook--thanks so much for the EZ recipes. I occasionally don't mess them up. It's a HUGE accomplishment, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My family thanks you from the bottom of their occasionally-not-so-empty stomachs.

I'm incredibly honored that you would put my link on your hub, and next to two amazing authors. Thank you, Chris. Your charity work is all caught up for the year. :)

I had forgotten how hilarious you are! Thanks for reminding me. You certainly have found a way to get attention with this hub! Good one.

Thank You.

And the recommendation is well deserved.

LOL Chris, I thought your top three hubbers would be three links to sueroy's profile. Your exchange with her in each other's hubs are just as entertaining as your hubs themselves.

Chris - you've done all of us a great service in outlining your fantastic hubs so one can easily find just which to read at any given time. Each category offers something unique and worthwhile to the reader. By the way, yours are the "new hubs by my favorite hubbers" which I always go right to from the announcements when I get to my inbox. And then it is such a pleasure to see your picture with its infectious smile at the top of a new hub! From this list, now I can easily find more to enjoy as well!

I"m totally dumbfounded to be among the selected few of such high calibre writers you have named as your favorites for 2010! You do me great honor. Both the others are among my most revered and envied writers, too. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! Would it be greedy of me to hope to remain on your top list this year? ;-)

Tammy,

Sue and I seem to be on the same wavelength humor-wise, and it is so much fun to banter back and forth with someone who "gets it". It probably gets a little too mutual admiration society at times, but...

I look for funny first (comic pages in the newspaper, etc) but I have been reading a much broader range of things here on hubpages, including, to my constant suprise, poetry.

Thanks for putting up with us!

Nellieanna,

You are well aware that I am a giant fan of your work. It is at such an amazing level, I am suprised that you are not in print and world famous! Maybe you are happy being a Hubheroine, but I am constantly blown away by your use of language. It is fun, it is beautiful, sometimes very deep, always enjoyable and a very real "touch of class".

Your talents will ensure your place in my heart and on my reading list for a very long time...

AWgeewillikers. Thank you, Chris. I've always planned to become world famous posthumously. I don't have time to fool with the details now. Let others tangle with them in due time! LOL.

Seriously - my best reward is for real people whom I know to see value in my stuff - and to win a non-lover-of-poetry to care for it is sublime reward! Thank you!

Nellieanna,

You are most welcome.

Let's keep the posthumous thing as a plan B for much, much, later on

Definitely! I've always planned to live and be active to 100 minimum. Besides - it may take me that much longer to transcribe all these poems from handwritten notebooks to legible word processed. hehe. Thanks, Chris.:-)

Wow, do I ever feel like a big turd. I just became aware of this today, and I REALLY appreciate it. I am honored actually. Thanks so much man. I'm making 2011 the year that I read a lot more hubs, and yours are on my radar. Thanks a lot Chris.

Stan,

Sue is the current owner of the big turd award (Totally Unrepentant wRiter of Doo) but you came a close second!

Worried that you'd not see my comment as funny, should have known better...

Happy to promote your writing at any opportunity, and hope I can make you laugh occasionally

Cheers,

Chris
