My Journey To Hub #100

My Steps To Hub #100

Hub #100

You have obviously started writing for HubPages because you are a good writer, you want to become a good writer or you just want to write. HubPages is a great place to share your work with other writers. If you meet the right people, they will help you and guide you to become a better writer. Almost everyone I've met here are kind and helpful. This is my #100 hub and I'll keep writing hubs.

HubPages Family Member

HubPages Family

If you have been around here for a while, I think you already know all these things about nice people on HP. It's a good place to spend time and develop your skills as a writer. You meet likeminded people and you can share your thoughts on many different subjects. That's why I haven't left. I like the community. It's like a writing family, the HubPages Family, and new family members are always welcome and supported by us, who have been here for years.

3 + 97 Hubs

I've been a member on HubPages for five years in August 2014. I only wrote three hubs when I joined HubPages. The 97 other of my hubs have been written in two and a half years. I was away for two years and forgot about HP. How could I? I then returned and got into writing again. To write almost 100 hubs in approximately 900 days is not very much. It's one hub evert ninth day or three hubs every month. Many hubbers are much more active than me, and I admire their ability to keep writing quality hubs all the time.

My Hubs

I write in periods. Sometimes I don't write for weeks and then again I can write a couple of hubs in a few days. I write about things I'm interested in. I have written quite many poems. Sometimes they just come to me and I write them down. They are easy to write. I don't have to do any research and look for sources before I write them. The words just come to me like running water. That happens when I'm in ”poetry mood”. Sometimes my poetry mood is turned off and then I'm not able to write even one line of poetry. Instead I can use my time for research for another type of hub. I can spend hours and days on thinking and researching before I even start writing an article.

Inspiration And Ideas

I'm a very bad planner. I never know exactly what my hubs will be about when I start writing. Largely I know what I want to write about, but as I'm writing I get new ideas and the story can be very different from my original thought.

Sometimes I get inspired by photos I've taken. I really like taking pictures of the nature. Spending time in nature also inspires me to write poems. Sometimes when I read hubs or comments, I get an idea for a new hub. Just spending time on HubPages is inspiring itself.

I don't read questions and spend much time in the forums on HubPages, even if I know that's a good way to discover new writers and to get noticed myself. I recently read a question from a newcomer on HP. One of the answers said that we hubbers are not here to read, we are here to write. I don't agree with that. If you're only here for writing, you can't expect to get many readers. You have to read and support other writers, too. That's just my opinion. If you are good at SEO you'll get readers from outside HubPages, too. You can also share hubs on different social sites. If you, like me, mostly write personal hubs and poems, you don't get much traffic from outside of HP. Some of my hubs get views from Google every day. Those are some of my ”research hubs”. Maybe they are worth all the time and efforts if you are looking to grow your audience and earn more money.

Most Popular Hubs And Choosing A Title

People can earn money on HP. I might get paid in a near future if I'm lucky. I know what I can write about to earn some more cents than I do now. My hub about forest creatures in Scandinavia and a recipe hub are a couple of my most popular hubs. There would be much more to write about in these two subjects. Maybe I'll write more hubs about Scandinavian folklore. That hub has been on top since I wrote it. It has many pictures that I took myself and I put much time on the hub. It gets most of it's views frim Google. It seems to be a subject people want to know more about.

Recipe hubs also seem to be popular, but you really need to have a certain niche, when you're writing recipes. There are so many recipes out there on the Internet. People don't find your hub if it's only named ”cheesecake” or ”chocolate cake”. It has to be a more specific name or title that's unique for your recipe. This is always important when you choose a title for your hub. I don't really care about choosing a good ”SEO title” when I write poems. I don't think that's what people search for anyway.

I Will Keep Writing

This hub sums up my thoughts after my years and 100 hubs on HubPages. One of my goal when I joined was to be able to improve my English. Wow, now I'm just writing and I can't seem to stop. I know I still use pretty simple words, but I'm sure my vocabulary has increased since I joined and started writing hubs. I think I learn a couple of new words every time I read a hub. That's awesome! I'm really happy I found HP and I'm so glad I've met so many wonderful people here. Thank you all for reading my hubs. It means so much to me.

Who Is Doug Seegers?

This song and video doesn't really have anything to do with me and my writing. I just want to share it, because this homeless man, Doug Seegers, was given the chance to record his own song in the Cash Cabin Studio in Nashville. The two Swedish singers Jill Johnson and Magnus Carlson found Doug on the streets of Nashville, where he was sitting and singing this song. It's a story I want to share with you. Doug's beautiful singing voice needs to be spread to the world. We all have a story to tell. Maybe I'll write a hub about Doug Seegers some day...

I didn't know you had been here for five years. My goodness, that makes you one of the earliest members that I know. Well congratulations on #100 and thank you so much for that lovely gesture of including my picture. I really appreciate that, Made, and I really appreciate you.

Hi Bill, I'm not sure I would be here toady if I hadn't met all wonderful writers when I returned. You are the father in the HubPages Family and you mean so much to me and many other writers. Thank you so much for everything. I appreciate you, Bill.

Congrats on your # 100!!! Wow, five years. Thank you for sharing about your time on HP. I just wrote my 100th hub today too, but it is really my second round of 100 because I had deleted about 10 - 13 of my older hubs, so my 100 went away for a bit LOL.

I like that you do not plan anything specific to write about and that you write whatever is on your mind at the time.

Thank you for sharing about the homeless man. That is awesome!

Up and more and sharing

Happy 100,

Faith Reaper

Here's to another 100!

Hi Faith Reaper, thank you! Congrats on your second round of 100 hubs! I'be been thinking of editing all of my hubs and delete some. Maybe I'll reach 100 again, too.

I'm so happy to always read your nice comments on my hubs. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy 100! That's quite a milestone! I am still far away from that magic number but that's OK. It will come when it will come :-)

I love your picture at the's shows clearly that you arrive at that number one step at a time and that's exactly how I take it!

Thank you for sharing your journey! Have a beautiful weekend!

Madeleine, congrats on #100! I must say, you ended this one with a bang. Doug Seegers is awesome! I love his voice and I love the song. I really do hope you write a hub about him. I'd love to hear his story. He is so talented! I'm going to look him up on You Tube and see if there's anymore of his stuff out there.

Great job!

Hi Shauna, thank you!! I must admit I don't know much about Doug Seegers yet, but he has become popular in Sweden (I saw him on Swedish television) and he's coming to Sweden. I love his voice! I'm sure I'll learn more about him in a near future. I appreciate your loyal support, bravewarrior.

I've been listening to him on You Tube all afternoon, thanks to this post. He's incredible! BTW, I forgot to tell you - I love the sneakers at the top of the page. I'm a sucker for high top sneakers and those are really cool!

Congratulations on this awesome milestone! I love the creative first photo! Your second photo is great too! Although I don't talk to Bill often, I do see his presence on HubPages. He is a great family member!

Like you, I joined HubPages and didn't write much in the first year or so. I find this is common among the "old timers" like us lol. We all write at our own pace. I deleted over 40 Hubs that were either low quality and couldn't be fixed, or they were poems and essays that I re-posted on my blog.

That's the great thing about blogging and writing. We are our own boss. Great Hub and again, congrats! Never stop writing Madeleine! Up and shared.

Hi deecoleworld, thank you! I haven't been in any hurry writing my hubs. I guess it will take a couple of years reaching my 200th hub. I'm going to edit most of my hubs now and delete some if it's necessary.

Hi Made, nice to meet you. Congratulations on writing 100 hubs. I can relate to almost everything you have written here. I have been a Hubber for over 4 years, but had only written two hubs to start with, then was inactive for over two years. I have now written 97 hubs in a little over a year, so feel I am doing ok. Like you most of my hubs are poetry so don't attract much outside interest. I do intersperse the poetry with articles and short stories occasionally depending on my inspiration. It is the wonderful hub family that makes writing here worthwhile. I have not reached payout yet, maybe by the end of the Voted up.

Hi Made. A really good hub from you. You have touched upon many bases, really interesting. I also go into poetry mode and it comes quite easily, other times a complete block. We are all similar in that I suppose.

Hi Jodah, nice to meet you, too. It's fantastic how many writers I haven't met here yet, even if they have been on HP as long as I have. You are one of them. I have to take a look at your hubs. I really appreciate your comment. Thank you for following me, too.

Congratulations on reaching 100 hubs! I can relate to what you write about taking a brake from HubPages for a while and isn't that a healthy sign? Life is complex and so much more than hubbing:) But like you I come back here now and then and more often just now. Thanks for the inspiration of reaching 100 hubs, and thanks for a great hub that shows that we learn with time. I love the first photo!

Congrats on your great achievement. You are a hard worker and have great passion for writing. So be assured you will have many more laurels or accolades in the coming days. Keep on engaged in forum and writing more hubs. I hope you will have more colorful achievements and accolades in the days to come. I am so happy that your language skill improved so well . You had a love for English language and through your continuous hard work you have mastered the language. All the best. God bless you.

Hi thougtforce, nice to see you stop by. Unfortunataly I haven't been writing anything here lately. This time of the year I like spending time outdoors instead of writing. It's very nice to reach this amount of hubs. Have a wonderful summer!

sunilkunnoth2012, thank you so much. I really like writing, but right now I have taken a long break. I have learned so much since I started writing here on HubPages. It's a great and supportive community and it's always nice to meet new writers here from all around the world.
