I was there bro I fully understand the emotion of your poetry

His poem is something of a unforgiving reality, because you never will ever forget the pain, the loss of life, and the hardships that subside due to going to any war, and even if you just had friends who been through it all, or a loved one as well

Thanks Mhatter99 sincerely,

@Mhatter99, That poem of yours was really something that struck a chord with me, and is some deep dramatic poetry. Its loaded with real true to life emotions felt, and it took me back to the times I was in the military, many of my friends had gone off to Iraq and some to Afghanistan.

I'm a Navy Veteran, and all of my comrade's fellow Sailors, Marines, Army and Air force personnel all go through such difficulties, and their children do as well. Leaving home for several months on end, some very unfortunate souls never to return from the filed of battle.

That image of the soldier crying in your poem is proof, that no matter how hard we may appear to make ourselves, we all have a heart, we all have emotions, have friends and love ones back at home who care for us.

I shed tears myself for those who have felt such drastic life altering affects from having to sacrifice their lives, their children's lives of all the millions of parents that are effected or some who have lose their children entirely to senseless wars year after year, to protect our country from probable invasions, its freedoms, justice, liberties, and that of the innocent.

I also shed tears of empathy for all the countless innocent victims, and families on the other side as well, whom had nothing to do with such violent warfare, and unfairness of war crimes committed and all, since many of them also had to face the inevitable fates of losing their lives as well. Plus their lives have been torn to shambles, and not because of a fault of their own, mainly because of the fault of world leaders of such places, and misled or misinformed leaders of our country as well.

I pray for a better future bro, and for all of humanity

May god bless them all to have safe passage into heaven, and may he bless all of us as well. I truly believe in God, I don't go to church regularly, but I know god is with us all in and throughout everything, and will surely provide the answers in due time.

I do believe that mankind doesn't truly know what he or she is doing as a whole, and to one another at times. So, we seem to always run off into the abyss like this, from time to time fighting many aimless and countless battles, to only return war ridden and scarred, what a shame it is. This is life on earth I guess for the moment, lets hope there will be a day to come when peace can rein victory on this precious earthly surface, and lets hope that day is soon. Amen to that.

Thank you @Sunnie for your input here, for visiting and for sharing with me. I'm also happy Mhatter99 shared such a poem with us all.

Its always tough to deal with experiences like this in life, and for me the best thing to do is to pray for a better future, because none of us have control of any of it, you know.

As sad as the reality of the matter is, I also believe that god has a huge part in it all, and he knows best for sure.

Thank you for your service to our country. My dad was in both the Korean and Viet Nam wars, and so I know what it is like to be a child of a soldier who had seen things so terrible and he suffered with PTSD. My husband also served in the Air Force. Nice tribute to Mhatter, who is a prolific poet no doubt. I read his poetry all the time, but somehow must have missed this one, so thank you for bringing this one to light. Excellent hub here. God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Yes Bill, we all been through it, going through it, and I pause to call on God for assistance during such times, and he has answered my calling many times, and so there is hope, especially if you believe in such a higher power today or any day for that matter.

My tears drop for us all as well, even when things seem bright, I cry for the simple fact of being appreciative that I am alive today! Point Blank......

Thanks for the kind empathy you have for the soldiers, and all the Vets, as well as those still enlisted, and due to be enlisted.

Mike,

Great Tribute to a Great Poem!

I, too, am a veteran, and it hit very deeply. We don't give enough to those that give everything. It's a shame more don't realize that. Although, to understand it, you really have had to have been a part of it, either as a military person or family member.

Many thanks to you and to Mhatter! This is a subject that needs to be seen and understood by many!

@rcrumple, definitely deserves to get his poem known, and worldwide, and so I will do what I can to help such a thing happen for him. That wasn't any old average poem, and so I will continue to promote, and spread the love for Mhatter99, as I do quite frequently for many others, as you've grown to learn about me RC.

Paying it forward is a legacy and a good thing to do bro, thanks for doing so for me here as you often do as well.

Cheers to awesome sharing on hubpages and beyond, oh and thanks for your service to our country as well.
