Simone Smith - My Hubpages Crush

Being part of an online community such as Hubpages exposes you to some amazing people that you may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet. Within groups of friends or within a career, a persons exposure to different types of people may be limited. For example, I work in healthcare, so I don't have much exposure to artistic, creative people. That is something I have to seek independently. I also don't have much exposure to humorous, light-hearted people as healthcare maintains quite a serious environment. I do interact with all sorts of people daily, but my ability to be creatively inspired is limited.

Upon joining Hubpages, I really did not know what to expect. Partly I thought I'd encounter the entrepreneurial type, motivated by money, or perhaps the artistic person sharing their poetry or music. Recently engulfed by photography, I hoped to learn more from people sharing their photography expertise. Well to my disbelief, I encountered all of this and more. I felt slightly overwhelmed and a little bit lost and that is where my Hubpages crush, Simone Smith, fueled my love for Hubpages.

This Hub is really in appreciation to the community, the site, and to Simone for her encouragement and guidance.

The Hubpages Community

The Hubpages Community has been amazing. When I first came here in July 2011, I did not expect as much interaction as I experienced. There was certainly a warm welcome from several people and this immediately made me feel enthusiastic about being here. Within only a few weeks, I experienced so much support and was having all my questions answered. People happily offered their advice and expertise which made it easy for me to sink my teeth into Hubpages. The things I learned from the Hubpages staff, as well as the Hubpages community , are applicable to the outside world and I feel that my skills as a writer, blogger, and Internet whiz-bang have improved significantly. Thanks to all of you reading this Hub. You help shape this place.

The Hubpages Site

The Hubpages site is organized very well and compared to many other user generated content sites, I have found Hubpages to be superior in every way. Everything one needs to publish great content with great formatting is in place here. The process is easy and Hubpages wants all of its users to succeed. There is a wealth of knowledge. The learning center will help you get up and running. There is also an enormous amount of content in users hubs, questions, and forums. I really love this site for its simplicity, great organization, and wealth of knowledge. Thanks Hubpages!

Simone Smith

Now back to my Hubpages crush, Simone Smith. She has really been paramount in my learning and always leaves such great comments to keep me motivated. She is a true asset to Hubpages as an employee and as a participant in the community. I appreciate her sense of humor and knowledge on just about everything. I love my wife, but I Hubpages love Simone. Thanks Simone!

I was lucky enough to have met Simone in person! Ha Ha! I got pictures! http://hubpages.com/community/HubCamp-Boston-Whats...

Simone really is a great person, a great Hubber and a creative employee at HubPages. She works hard and it shows. This is a very nice tribute to her and I hope she sees it! I Like how you mentioned that the community on HubPages as a whole is awesome. Everyone is there to help along the journey. Nice job Matt! We'll look forward to more from Simone!

Todd,

You have a lot of competition out here in Hubland.

Actually leroy64, I would say the rest of us are the ones who have HIM as competition. He's one step ahead of the rest of us.

Matt, - I agree with everything you said, I love Hubpages. It is a really fun community. I tried a couple other writing sites and didn't like them at all. There wasn't anything wrong with the sites except it wasn't as fun as Hubpages.

Point taken. Think there will be a lot of similar hubs going out?

The smarter guys won't follow suit and will find their own unique way.

I have to agree with all of the above comments. Hubpages is a fantastic way to meet a different group of people. Especially being the writer of content that I am, a lot of those close to me do not understand it. (My poems).. here I feel like "Home"... Simone is a pretty rockin chic.. great choice for a crush!

This is very funny, but very true. Simone is great. I particularly love seeing her humor come to life in her videos!

Abso-bloody-lutely right! Great idea for a Hub, Matt. And very well-expressed.

Obviously from the comments you're not the only one feeling HubPages love for Simone, but as others have pointed out, you're the one who said it first. The rest of us can now only follow.

Also, might be just me, but the fact that the lady in question has by far the sexiest avatar onsite, (changed twice since I've been here, but the theme remains constant), doesn't hurt either.

Adding to the accolades, Simone read a short story I wrote for the HubPages Podcast Series. It's about a serial killer, so hardly a natural fit for our bubbly HP cheerleader. But she got right into it, got her voice delivering soft and low and menacingly passionless, right in tune with the tale.

It's a very beguiling performance. I was blown away, and told her so. I'm fairly certain she'll be reading this, so Simone, thanks again!

Ooooh emmm geee!!

I am chuffed to the nines. Matt Stark, you've made my month. I'm so honored to have been a positive part of your experience on HubPages, and I'm even more honored to have you on the site. I can state for a fact that the folks at HubPages HQ have had more than one conversation about you, specifically, and how great of a Hubber you are, and I'm really excited to have been one of your earlier fans! Also, props on the great newsletter interview. I'm already hearing good things about it :D

Also, to those in the comments, thanks for the kind words! Dang. I hadn't realized that I came across so well. MY DASTARDLY PLOT SUCCEEDS!

Double also, I don't doubt that, Millionaire Tips. Your Hubs are pretty frickin' awesome.

I definitely agree that Simone is one of the coolest girls around, and she doesn't drink! That makes her double-triple cool!!!!

Thanks Matt Stark, and I'm sure most hubbers agree about Simone! And I love those bows she wears!

Simone is awesome! Her hubs regularly crack me up. I definitely agree with your points about HubPages. It's an awesome, unique community that is superior to other freelance writing sites in about every way possible. I love the interaction here as well.

I cant believe you actually told the truth, I must say your hub writing ability does definitely extend far past most on here, I've read a great deal of hubs in just three months or so, & this one on your love of a hub employee is fantastic.

What I liked most is your usage of clear and concise verbiage, correct terminology, and spacing as well as content placement.

You have stuck to the theme all the way as well, which its contents has simply made me realize I'm actually in the best place for writing online. I also enjoyed my new found experiences here on hubpages & I try to help new comers who are to join each day through my own writings.

The love of writing must stem from the Love of life & by completely reading this hub you've expressed just that. So indeed it is a great place to fully express oneself, in numerous ways.

I too love Hubpages a great deal so far & hopefully for the full life of its existence on the web, but I'm afraid my wife would get jealous if I told the god honest truth as you've done here about loving a hubpages personality.

Conrad's on having such a great writing skill as you possess & your Hub Elite status is surely on its way, I definitely can see that coming in the near future for you. Good luck! & this one is Voted up on every level.

Hello, I just started today and have yet to. Meet this Simon Smith so sorry that I can not support you there. I can however agree with you regarding everything else. I think I love hub pages. I left Facebook months ago after being plugged in for at least 3-4 years. I think HP may have my attention.

Take care,

John
