Okay HubPages, So How Exactly Am I Supposed To Make Money If I Can't Promote Anything Worth Promoting?

Updated on August 31, 2011

Who Are You Trying To Protect Anyway?

Okay folks, this is getting to be ridiculous. Day after day another email telling me that another one of my Hubs is in violation of the terms I never agreed to when I joined. Now that I have years invested in my writing and participation with other Hubbers I'm just supposed to roll over and take all of my links off of every Hub I've ever written so they are basically worthless, right? What a load of crap people!

Who are you trying to protect anyway? Don't you people of HubPages realize that the reason most of us came here and began writing was because it was an avenue to make money? Furthermore, don't you know that people only read Hubs they are interested in? Do you force people to read Hubs? Hell no you don't so why do you feel it necessary to prevent them from seeing a link that may help them finally lose weight or make money or find a solution to their acne problem? What makes you so smart that you know we are all con artists just trying to steal money from unsuspecting readers? And why is it okay for me to write a Hub and place ads for Amazon (which I can't even use anymore because I live in California) and Ebay but not Clickbank products? Is it possibly because HubPages makes a small commission too? Hmmm, maybe?

Look, all I'm saying is that this ridiculous rule that you can't promote any Clickbank product is simply...well, ridiculous. All Clickbank products are are information products. Yes, some are better than others and some are not worth the electricity it takes to view them. But why are all products from Clickbank banned?

Let me ask you geniuses a question. Where do you go when you need information? The overwhelming majority of people today go to the Internet of course. That's what the Internet was invented for in the first place, to have the ability to get information instantly. So if I feel I have something to contribute to the Internet that perhaps other people have already discussed but I have a different take on it, if I put those thoughts on HubPages, I'm not allowed to benefit financially for my time or ability, only you are. That sucks on many levels!

And don't even get me started about the worthless pennies you so generously give me everyday from the HubPages ads. It's only slightly better than Google Adwords ads and we all know how many millionaires there are from those.

If Things Don't Change Here, I'll Be Forced To Leave

I'm certainly not trying to threaten anyone. Let's be honest, I'm not a big draw for visitors here at HubPages. I do have a couple hundred people read my Hubs each month but I know that pales in comparison to more popular Hubbers. But if the strict restrictions on links in Hubs continues, I will be forced to leave and spend my time writing for another website like Wizzley. And since my Hubs are basically worthless, I will likely pull them off one by one and place them in my pages there with links in place.

To anyone reading this, I say to you, you have a choice and you don't have to take this. If you feel the same way I do, say something. If you feel even a little that HubPages is unfairly restricting your writing, then do something about it. If they continue to restrict your links or acuse you of linking to a restricted website, take your Hub someplace else.
