Some Proposed Changes to Hubpages
I have seen many forum posts and Question Answers regarding the changes in Hubpages that many people would like to see. I have been keeping track of all these proposals for quite a long time. Well, I have some proposals too (Why should I be in the back-door cheering for all the hubbers).
These are some of the changes that I would like to see in Hubpages as soon as possible. I think it will enhance the already-fun-Hubpages-experience. I hope that many of my fellow hubbers will agree with certain changes and I seriously hope that the authorities would see this hub and if they cannot give me the Hubpages Elite label or a couple of thousand dollars, at least they would seriously think of these changes or send me a little message of appreciation (Then it will be up to me to snatch some dollars out of them! Hurrah).
CHANGES FOR HUBPAGES:
Following is the list of some proposed changes to Hubpages:
1. Hub’s Layout:
I think this is something that I seriously want. I do agree with the fact that the current layout is not too bad either. But it should be enhanced with some more features which other websites do have. I would love to see some banners, graphics presentations, some different layouts for text, pictures, polls and charts; different colors of text backgrounds; some default divider pictures from Hubpages and some different features like Sticky Notes etc.
As like Facebook, I would love to see a notification tab in Hubpages. The example of this notification tab can be perceived as if I comment on my fellow hubber’s article titled XYZ. Usually many people forget that they made a comment (at least I tend to forget sometimes), but later if there comes a notification that my ‘fellow hubber’ has also commented on the hub XYZ. I will go back and see the comment and reply if asked a question; eventually increasing my hubpages activity and it may increase some internal traffic for the website too (Will it? I’m not too sure, but I guess Yes!)
A question will definitely arise that in this way the notification tab will be cluttered up with unnecessary notifications of ‘comments’ when the fellow hubber keeps commenting on his hub in reply to the new comments by other people. Yeah I know, it will be a bit of trouble, but I will leave this trouble to the Hubpages Staff, let them not become rusty!
I have a solution though (I will take $500 for sharing this). The solution can be an option to select a reply-based-comment. Like that fellow hubber will comment on that comment of mine and this notification comes to me, later, all the useless comments will not be notified.
3. Notifications Alert:
As like Twitter and Gmail, recently (a couple of months ago), Facebook also introduced the feature in which when a notification arrives, a little (1) comes in our explorer tab. Since websites like Facebook, Gmail and Hubpages are always open in my internet browser; I will certainly jump to the website whenever I will see a (1) in my browser. It will eventually increase the Hubpages activity I believe.
4. Chat Groups:
Many people will not agree with this point. But I am not talking about the chat thing like Facebook etc. I am talking about a group chat option. Like if you want to talk and discuss something, or you want to gather ideas for your new relationship based article, you may go into the relationship group and then you will find many people online there to whom you can talk and know what you wanted to know. I think this will be great, because Hubpages is becoming more of a social networking website and for such a productive use; this option is not bad at all.
Recently, a much respected friend of mine (a fellow hubber) sent me an important message, but I couldn’t read it for three days, because I did not sign in my e-mail account that is associated with the hubpages account. I think there should be an inbox option in hubpages, because it will help while asking something or for positive criticism.
6. Profile View:
I will strongly vote, if asked, for some changes in profile view for a hubber. Like there is a show-case for our latest hubs, there should be an option to select which hubs to show-case and in what priority, when someone visits your profile.
7. Profile View Counter:
Although this feature will not be that much important, but still a profile view counter will not be too bad to repair a hubber’s damaged self-esteem and waning confidence :P
8. Links to Blogs/Websites:
Many hubbers do have a blog or website of their own. There should be an option of showing these websites and/or blogs along with the hubber’s profile information (somewhere near the avatar picture). There should be either a box for putting your websites’ URLs, which should be highlighted, or some sort of widgets or thumbnails pictures to highlight them.
9. Creative Learning Center:
I would seriously like to see a voluntary creative learning center in hubpages, where people should be able to voluntarily contribute their expertise in different types of writing. I firmly believe that people will certainly share voluntarily, but for the sake of encouragement and motivation, there can be a system of random rewards or monetary rewards or gifts for those honorable persons whose contributions top the chart. This thing will immensely help those persons who inspire to be a writer but cannot get any professional education for this field. It will help the writer community in whole and the goodwill of Hubpages will certainly hit the mark, since no other competitors will have this feature. (Come on dudes! At least now you owe a cheque! Don’t be selfish! I am not even IN that voluntary center yet. Pay me!)

These were some of the changes that I would love to see in Hubpages. I hope the authorities will take this hub as a serious note and I also do hope that because of many upcoming comments from my fellow hubbers will make them believe that which one of the above changes is required the most.
Kindly do vote for your favourite change and if I have missed any important thing, please share your desired change into the comments section.
