Started In The Heart And Ended In The Mind
Old Cars Rust, So Do We
This Hub Is 100 Percent Scratch
Hello Hubbers and stopper by's
I'm writing this hub as an experiment to see just what I can come up with, off the cuff! I hope there's something here someone enjoyed reading.
Last week, I got blue funk cabin fever and on a whim, asked the wife if she wanted to get out of the house for a bit. Of course she was all for that, so we took to the highway. Ended up in Biloxi,MS. where unknowingly at that time, people from all over the country had migrated in for the annual Cruisin the Coast event. It is a gathering of vintage car collectors and thier classic vehicles who come to enter their machines into different car events.
We walked around snapping pics and checking out many different specimens of antique rides as well as hot rods. I would guess that there were somewhere in the vacinity of 2,000 to 5,000 collector vehicles there all up and down the north side of Beach Boulevard.
Unaware of any difficulty my wife has informed me that this little getaway saved our marriage, which I had no clue of being in any kind of crisis. Men are dumb and pigs I guess when it comes to relationships.
I should've realized when she stopped cooking and cleaning house that something was up. Intuition is such a wonderful thing to have. Wish I had it!
Well after we visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast, took in the car show, had some supper, we drove on to Hattiesburg,MS. where her oldest daughter and new arrival eight month old grandbaby live at present. She was so happy to see them, that I welled up inside knowing that I had a hand in changing her feelings from sadness to extreme joy.
Sometimes ya just do things that really work out for the best, not knowing that what you are doing is making a wonderful impact on others.
All in all upon safely returning to home, I thought about the previous days wondering the roads and realized the joy I'd brought to my wife, daughter and most of all grandbaby Angel, Marie, that is her name. I thought to myself, I gotta surprise my wife more often this way, doing these good deeds. It was for the most part fun! Never to old or too late to make someone you love feel better and nothing like a little time away to refresh the heart and mind!
Thanks to all who read this and rate me. I am glad to be here expressing my thoughts, and learning to write better. Bless you all!
Oh and excuse me if I've got the tags wrong, I didn't know where this really fits in!
