The Hubbies: 2012 Voting Ideas
Normally I am an original person...normally but not always. I read Cogerson's hub "My 2012 Hubbie Award Ballot" and thought it was great! Not only was the hub great, but it was a great idea. So, since imitation is the highest form of flattery I thought I'd flatter Cogerson and imitate his hub!
I read that there are 50 million new readers on Hub Pages a month...that's a lot of readers. What about hubbers themselves? Hub statistic show;
- 2,237,936 hub users
- 190,936 total users
- 1,229,471 published hubs
I would imagine even the best hubbers and most conscientious followers can't possibly know all 190,936 users. Many hubbers write lists of some of their favorite hubbers and some do interviews but still, 190,936 is a number I don't think we can get our head around. Now add to that the long list of nominations for the Hubbie Awards and you could be faced with a dilemma.
I cannot solve the dilemma for you but I can give you a few ideas. Since time is running short (nominations close on the 24th) I thought now would be a good time for me to give you some of my suggestions. Remember these are just suggestions and you will need to form your own opinions and cast your own ballots.
The Best All-Around Hubber - I have two nominees for this title; Docmo and Billybuc. Docmo is from the UK and one of the finest, most versatile minds I've ever seen. He writes knowingly and interestingly about health issues, he writes unsurpassed poems with photos and presentations he prepares himself, he writes humor that would make a monk smile, his original artwork is amazing, and on and on. If you don't know him I would suggest you give his profile and list of hubs a quick look see. http://docmo.hubpages.com/
What about Billybuc? How can he compare? Believe it or not he does! Olympia, Washington's proud son brings humor and warmth to his hubs. He shares his knowledge and his years as a teacher are surely evident in all his writings. He starts many of his hubs with a welcoming, often instructional, feel good, video. A caring, helpful person and hubber who also has a great sense of humor...well, see for yourself. http://billybuc.hubpages.com/
So, that's my first dilemma. One I have to whittle down quickly to get in my vote!
Other Hubbers to Consider
Best All Around Hubber
Best Community Activist
IMHO my good friend fpherj48, from Western New York, Effer, as we call her, is always there with a quip and a humorous comment, not to even mention her funny hubs and all round good sense of humor. She's down for Most Cheerful Hubber in my book. I would add Sunshine 625, hailing from Orlando, Florida, because she always brings the sunshine with her, but I also see SS as Mostly Likely to Become a Hub Pages Employee. Lastly in this category is Nell Rose from across the sea with her tremendous British sense of humor!
Funniest Hubber was a tough one...all of the hubbers I've already mentioned could certainly win this category but then there's TTombs08. Anyone who has a llama for a friend has a a sense of humor! She can tickle your funny bone like no one else can. Her sense of humor is all over her hubs and her comments!
Most Political Hubber has a few for my vote as well. There's Ghost32, Feenix, and Pagesvoice..to name a few.
Best Fiction Writer...KDuBarry03 is a college student from New Jersey and his series "Blessed in the Moon-Sun Lights" is a horror story with tremendous originality, ; Ghost 32 pops up here again with his series "They Walk Among Us"
Best Poet ... PDXKaraokeGuy who lives in Oregon with his lovely bride, is not only a poet extraordinaire but he gives great hints on writing poetry; there's also AudreyHowitt from California hears the words of her poetry and her love of poetry shines through in everyone of her lovely poems. Lyns believes in painting with words and writes all types of poems covering many different subjects. If we're to consider haiku we have to include Vinayaghimire who writes such beautiful haiku and explains it to us so well.
Best Teacher...Lord de Cross my resident Math teacher, hails from New Jersey. His hubs are more than math but his 'math teaching hubs' are superlative and make math interesting! Schoolgirlforreal from Massachusetts gives us lots of good "how to" hubs, and ThePracticalMommy from the Eastern US, does great hubs on pregnancy, child rearing, and so many other child-related hubs. Don't forget Brett-tesol our computer/internet expert!
How about Most Likely to Go Viral...Twilight Lawns. This incredible writer covers lots of subjects but it's the amazing fiction! Even the name Twilight Lawns, which happens to be the name of a home for the aged that he (Twilight Lawns) created. He even has a web site for Twilight Lawns. Creative, imaginative, I can see him going viral.
I know you have thinking and researching to do so I'm not going to go into the other categories. Well, maybe one more. Best Avatar...now I don't want to blow my own horn, but have you seen me as Cruella? Well, since I got this idea from Cogerson I guess I have to mention he does have a cute avatar...the decision is yours..Cruella or cute...may the best person win!
Hope this hub was helpful in narrowing down some of your choices. Good luck and even if you don't vote for every category, vote for the ones you're sure of!

Why do we write hubs? There are as many reasons to write a Hub as there are Hub Pages and hubbers. The joy of writing, the joy of the hunt...
