The beginning of an obsession - Hubpages

Updated on February 2, 2010

Who knew that this could be such fun?

I have only been a member of Hubpages for a short time. Actually, only a little over a week. But during the time that I have spent here,I have come to find that this website can be quite addicting! I can't even remember exactly how I came across this website. Most likely it was through google. I remember reading something that said you could make money writing your own articles, and I thought "Well,if other people are doing it,I can too".

So,I made the decision to sign up. I did a little bit of research and found that the way you make money is through using affiliate programs, such as AdSense, and Amazon. So,I signed up for both, although I really had no idea what I was doing. Not long after that,I posted my first article,"Saving money in a single parent household".

Traffic was slow at first. I browsed around on the Hubpages website, looking for advice articles on how to use AdSense, and how to use Hubpages itself. I found a lot of helpful tips, and have learned a lot over the past week or so. I'm far from being an expert, but I'm quite satisfied with what I have learned thus far. The people on this website are very welcoming to newcomers, and I was a bit surprised that ANYBODY wanted to read the things I was writing about.

So,as my new addiction has grown,I find myself staying up late at night after work writing hubs. My goal was,and still is,to write at least one hub per day. I haven't raked in the big bucks, but I understand that it takes time, and also quality material. But,I did get my first click today on AdSense! I have earned a whopping 51 cents as of today. Yes,it is only one click. But it is a start, right? Who knows if I will ever reach my goal, but either way,I've found this to be an enjoyable past time for me. Thanks to all who have viewed my articles and left comments, and to all who view them in the future.
