Tips to Increase Your Online Earnings

Updated on August 18, 2009

Increase Your Adsense and other Online Earnings

Well people, these are a few tips that have worked for me in increasing my online earnings except from the "Selecting High-Paying Keywords" one which have worked for quite a few people I know. I can't guarantee that they will be equally effective for you but I am sure of one thing that they will definitely make a difference in your earnings and this difference will be a positive one. Please note that in this article I won't try to sell you anything, nor will I tell you to do difficult things like creating more blogs etc. All I am suggesting are some small changes that won't take much time. Also note that I will not make you join something new like Squidoo etc for increment in earnings, just these tine harmless things.

Ad Placement

Good Adsense ad placement can increase your website's CTR(Click Through Rate). Now how to do it. Well, one thing that has worked for me is to place Adsense ads along with a video or a picture and that helps increase CTR by a large amount. So more clicks, more profit and sales. You can try different ad placements on your sites to see what is best suitable for you. Normally it is suggested to have one and preferrably two large rectangles at the end of your post and 234x60 banner under the title of your post. 250 x 250 ad in the top left corner is also good to increase your CTR.

Select High-Paying Keywords

Select some high paying keywords e.g. mesothelioma and write your hubs or articles around them.
It certainly is not easy to write on every topic just because ads placed on articles/hubs having that topic have high CPC(Cost Per Click). Truly speaking, despite trying, I have never been able to write on a high-paying keyword just for the heck of it. Although, I have written on some high-priced keywords but that was because it interested me and I had prior knowledge on the subject. So, the question is, if I can't write on a high paying keyword just because it will pay me ten times the amount I am getting per click or maybe thirty times, then why am I telling you to write on these. This is because I know some people who have somehow opted this method and have seen their earnings being multiplied by a large figure and doing nothing else. Like if 1 click pays you 0.2$ on the average, imagine getting 5$ per click. So if you receive 100 clicks on the average in a month(which is below normal, as normally people get much more clicks than that), you will make 20$ a month at 0.2 per click. With an average of 5$ per click, you can easily make 500$ in a month. So that is a big amount compared to 20$. But remember it is not easy to write on topics you are not familiar with. Good luck to you if you want to try this.

Spend your time looking for targeted traffic, rather than non-converting social media traffic

There is no harm in generating traffic from Digg and SU. But if you want the traffic to convert into paying traffic then you will like to stop spending, rather wasting your time in getting traffic from Social media sites. You can spend that time in practices to get targeted traffic. All SEO specialists are agreed upon this one fact that traffic from search engines is the one that buys the product you are selling or click on your ads. Here are some ways to get more traffic from search engines.

Correct use of channels

Use channels to see which of your hubs and website pages are performing best in terms of ad revenue and sales. Once you have figured your highest earning pages out, try optimizing them for getting more traffic through articles etc. and generating more backlinks towards them and thus ranking even higher in SERPS. You can create more internel links towards them from your site/hubs. Internel links are the links pointing to a page of your site from another page of that perticular site or domain. Please note that if you are using URL channels, then there is a limit of 200 channels only, so if you are reaching the limit then place only your top performing hubs/pages or better performing ones there.
