What are the long term effects of not shutting down your computer properly
Computer shut down
By not shutting down your computer properly you are not allowing it to save your all your presets, files, logs, and system info and resources.. So the next time you boot up it will take longer to upload your login files because the computer needs to search for them. if it (the computer) does not find the last ones saved it will load the defaults. You may be wondering where your info went. How come my web pages take so long to load etc. You will end up with a lot of fragmented system files and fragmented disk space. Sooner or later your computer will lock up or crash as they say. All of these fragmented files take up memory that you need. You ever got a not "enough memery " even though you just upgraded your memory? It's still there but being used by unusefull fragmented files that don't work but are just slowing down your computer. You can spend all the money you want on tools that get rid of junk files and the like. If you keep being lazy and shutting down your computer the wrong way you are just defeating the purpose and use of these tools. Do a proper log off then shut down your computer. If you don't want to shut down try using stand by mode. I seldom shut down my computer. Shutting it off and on every day can be just as detrimental some say. I never tested this theory yet I just keep mine on and use a good firewall and virus protection system.
