Why Should I Join Hubpages? Can I Make Money At Home From Writing Hubs?

Updated on November 30, 2010

Why Hubpages

"Why Should I join Hubpages" I know the question as I asked this of myself only a couple of months ago. It did not take long for me to decide "Why Not Join Hubpages" I checked out the site and found a large selection of content. There are all kinds of hubs about everything you could imagine. This is encouraged by Hubpages. The fact that adult content is not allowed only reinforced my decision to join Hubpages.

I was looking for a place to express myself and found Hubpages to be exactly what I was looking for on the Internet. I kept all copyrights to anything I published to the site and even had several choices to earn money as well. This sounded almost too good to be true but after seeing how the payouts were calculated I could understand how Hubpages was able to make a revenue stream while allowing the author to keep 60% of the ads.

Not only was the opportunity to earn money available but all the information you would need to increase your income could be found on other authors hubs. Seo, backlinking, keywords, everything was right on the site.

Great Community

Not only does Hubpages provide you with a platform to publish your writing they also have a great community of writers.  In the forums section you can find many hubbers who are eager to help out a fellow hubber.  You will find plenty of encouragement and a genuine desire to see you succeed.  The nice thing about Hubpages is when a hubber brings traffic to their own hubs some of this traffic overflows into other hubs.  We all are promoting our hubs which also promotes the website itself.

You can provide links to your blogs or your own websites as long as it is not overly promotional.

Hubs

The hub is what an article is called on Hubpages. Once you have completed a hub and signed up for some of the income sources that hub will work every day all day to earn you some money. You can sign up for Amazon and recommend products or sign up for Google adsense and if an ad is clicked during your ad time you will get the money. This is a passive income meaning there is nothing for you to do once you publish the hub.

You can write fiction, poetry, or How to's pretty much anything you want to write about as long as it is not an adult topic or a gambling site. Please read the Terms Of Service before signing up so you do not run afoul of the rules.

Opportunity

If you are looking for a way to write some things and earn residual income from your work, Hubpages gives you the opportunity.  There are all kinds of work at home ideas on the Internet that claim to earn you money from home.  With Hubpages you will have to write quality, original content but the make money from opportunity is real.

There are several affiliates you can become associated with through the site itself.  All of these are real money making opportunities to earn money from home.  There are no guarantees but with the proper research and content the opportunity does exist.

Decision

If you are wondering if you should sign up I hope my insights have helped you to make a decision. This is really a nice site not only to post your writing but also to educate yourself in how the internet works. So if SEO or backlinking or PageRank is your thing then hubpages will give you an opportunity to either learn or practise these skills.

I hope to see your hubs soon and good luck.
