25 Google AdWords Trends Prompts With One Million or More Searches Per Month

Source

Using Keyword Topics

As a contributor to any writing site such as Hubpages, Squidoo, or Redgage, traffic to a hub or lens is the driving force behind earnings. Traffic to a hub increases its views which in turn increases its ranking. Articles with high ranking equal great earnings. Using the Google AdWords Keyword Topics tool is a free way to not only test the effectiveness of a topic you are writing on, but to also find the topics that Internet readers are actually searching for. The Google AdWords Keyword Tool can provide you with the rate of effectiveness of a title or keyword you are writing about, and can also provide a list of topics searched for globally and locally. In addition, the Google Keyword Tool indicates the amount of competition a given subject has on Google. An article that is searched millions of times per month and has low competition on Google could be a potentially lucrative writing subject for writers.

Finding Key Words on Google AdWords

Go to www.googleadwords.com. If you are a part of Google's AdSense program, you will already have an account. If you are not a participant, you may need to register.

I entered "ball room dancing" under the word or phrase. This takes us to screen two where you can see how many searches are done each month locally and globally for "ball room dancing." The middle column indicates the level of competition for this subject on the Internet.

This tool is also effective in "tweaking" the titles to your Hubs and Lenses. Readership for this topic increases if you use "dance schools" to your title or as a tag to your article.

Very useful. I'll have to write down those suggestions. Can't believe Lego Star Wars gets so many searches. Interesting to see 'How to Cheat' is ranked highly- what does that say about modern society? Anyway, great work Tammy. Voted up.

Thanks JKenny. The Star Wars Legos shocked me too. It has more searches per month than Star Wars itself.. LOL. They say that articles geared towards teens do best because they are the biggest searches on the internet. The statistics do suggest that. X-box gets tons of searches. I know my sons were always looking for cheat codes. Thanks so much for your visit.

Thanks Tammy for highlighting this useful tool. Many hubbers don't know about it. I use it all the time, but usually to research on specific keywords. The problem with going for the really highly searched keywords is that you're competing for views with thousands of other sites. Voting this Up and Useful.

Nice work Tammy,

I use both of these tools and they are very effective.

How fickle is the public.

Lady GAGA with 20 million hits and the Beatles with 6 million.

Then again the Beatles haven't been around for decades so still pretty impressive.

You did a great job here. Voting it up interesting and extremely useful for hubbers and bloggers alike. Socially SHARING

It is free for the ways we would use it with our hubs. I know that people pay for "Adword Campaigns" but I think those are for those who are trying to find ad placement. My suggestion goes against what it was created for, if that makes any sense! Thanks for reading.

Great hub. Will be interesting to see the stats on this with all those high ranking keywords in it that you have included in the list as time goes by. I have been using Using Google AdWords Keywords for under a month, but have ran all my hubs through it and tweaked them all and now use it with every hub I publish. I like the ability to create the hub, publish, then place the link into the tool and the tool will view the whole hub with keyword returns. I then revise the keywords and/or ad more information to the hub that is related so that I can pick up another high ranking keyword. Voted up, useful and interesting.

Very nice Hub. I'm more of less completely oblivious to these things. Keep wishing I could learn more, but each time I try, I run out of time. You have explained this nicely and simply. Thanks, up, interesting, useful. Bookmarking also. Thanks so much, Tammy.

Dale (above) says you can place the Google Ad link tool into the hub --- "and the tool will view the whole hub with keyword returns." How does one do that?

Hi Huntgoddes. You can place your hub title into the same "phrase or word" section. AdWords will tell you how much traffic your title can expect and it will bring up all the related words. You can either tweak your title to get better results or use the AdWords suggestions for tags for your hub. It is very easy and beneficial. Thanks for reading!

Up and interesting. While you also need to consider the level of competition, keywords with high search rates are key to getting readers. I've been playing with this for a while and hadn't actually considered reviewing my old hub titles using this tool ... good tip!

I'm always using google adwords keyword tool on my keyword research. And it is very easy to use! Aside from monthly search, you should also need to consider the competition. Low competition, high monthly search and exact match type. :)

rajan jolly profile image

rajan jolly 4 years ago from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar,INDIA.

Tammy, I made it a point to use the Google keywords tool for locating keywords and tags to be used in hubs early on in my writing. I try to use those that have a low competition and maybe are less searched for but then I have a chance to make it to the first few search pages. A keyword between 1000 and 40000 searches is what I aim for.

It comes as no surprise that 'the ways to make money' search term has the maximum search!! That's what most of us are looking to do!

You have explained it so well. Voted up, useful and interesting. SHARED.

I love the keyword tool. It's a free insight into the the minds of those who use the internet : ) When I use it I look to see which keyword is the most popular with the least amount of competition. It is also helpful when I write because the phrase which is most searched for may not have been my initial wording choice. Voted up, useful, and shared. Hope you are well : )
