You can hear the keyboard roar! 100 Hubs

Have a slice of cake and celebrate with me!
Have a slice of cake and celebrate with me!

I chose HubPages as my place to write after careful consideration of the alternative places to blog. I know I use first person many times, and this often is discouraged in writing Hubs. Hubs are supposed to "teach" people something, or offer information about places, people, and things. I like to think memoir is one of the best teaching tools around.

Memoir has become a huge genre in the book industry. I often see scads of new memoir writing when perusing Amazon or my local bookstore. People often feel the need to write about their personal experiences, in order to teach others either what not to do, or what happened to them. Everyone has a story and most people believe their story is one everyone else should read!

This is my 100th Hub! I did NOTstart out thinking about the following:

Becoming famous and making money writing.

Writing 100 Hubs.

Finding my niche'.

But I am still and it makes me happy to be here. I am not famous, have not made any money and have not really found my niche'. But 1 out of 4 seems to be accomplished! Today as I move forward in my life I can say I have written 100 Hubs on Hubpages. It has been a delight! It has been something of which I feel meets my need to express my creative abilities and it brings me joy to keep my ole brain matter stimulated! You an hear the whistle blow 100 miles...!

Congratulations Aley,I too think memoir is a good way to express a point and help people learn. they take whatever they want from a memoir.

Congratulations on hitting your 100th hub milestone. Before you know it, you will be writing about the 200th hub! Good luck and keep up the good work.

BTW - I like to write in first person too. Maybe it is because I feel it is more personal that way... so I prefer that style! :)

Congratulations on writing 100 hubs. I felt a great satisfaction when I reached 100 as it wasn't really planned; I just kept writing. Now you can set off to write your second hundred wonderful hubs!

Thanks so much to everyone for your wonderful support! I did not really even think about bring close to this accomplishment, then I noticed I was hovering at 98 and thought "WELL NOW" I need to get going on this! I am happy to hear you like writing in first person too Barbergirl, as it is really comfortable doing so, although I must drill my students no "me, me, me" in their own writing! Of course they are writing expository papers for academe, so they must change their way of writing to reflect academic writing!

I am starting two new classes (I keep going to school) next week and hope this will feed me with lots of things to write about...it sure is great to keep the ole gray matter moving ....!

Again, thanks to all...200...here I come!

my best
