   Is it fair game, when another member take your question and make a hub out of it.
   
   I noticed that I asked a question and a member took my question and wrote a hub about it, is that fair game?

   When one replies to a question, there is the option open to write a hub on the question by hitting the button: "make a hub about it" below the answer box.

   Yeah, it is fair, there is a button for it under the answer options just like Phyllis Doyle said. 
   
   The possibility of someone making a hub out of it is one of the things you have to consider when asking a question.
   
   On the plus side, there is nothing stopping you also making your own, different, hub on that topic.  Each person's angle on a topic will be different. No-one gets to 'own' a particular topic.

   I think one of the primary reasons for having the question/answer feature here on HP is to encourage people to write hubs -- which it does.

   Funny you should ask that question because I answered a question last week and the person followed by asking me a question in the comments.
   
   I could not answer the follow up question so I began a hub on the subject to help out.  The good thing about questions is the answers.  Sometimes the answers are so long they become hubs.

   I agree with the others.  Yes, it is completely fair for another member to use your question to make a Hub out of it.  In fact, the HubPages staff encourages that.   They put the Questions and Answers section in HubPages so that it gives a spark to have someone make a Hub out of it.   That is why whenever someone answers a question, there is a button at that bottom that says "make a hub about it".  If they click that button, it turns their answer into a Hub.
   
   Hope you didn't get mad at the person who turned your question into a Hub.

   Yes I think in the forum there's a whole response about answering questions and making hubs about them. This gives you the questioner the best answer yet, and us as a hubber a hub idea so it becomes a win win situation...

   Why not? Of course it isn't unfair at all! If somebody steals your hub that's obviously unfair! But you ask a question and someone gets an idea to elaborate on it... it's an act that should be encouraged by all the fellow hubbers!

   I have produced one hub on a question from this forum.  It asks if you would like to write a hub on this topic.  So, before you post a question here, you might want to write a hub on it first.

    Yes why not? We all seek inspiration for the Hubs we write. If I do this I acknowledge where I got the idea from but my Hub is my Hub.

    Sure, apparently you did not want to and many times we get ideas from other people hubs and as long as they don't steal it from you it is ok. If you still want to do it I don't see why you can't in your own style and way. No one really owns an idea and I don't see how they can call it a duplicate, there are our own views to something that may have been written about many times and who is to say yours won't be best?

    You only wanted an answer, the other person wanted to delved deeper into the subject. You had the same opportunity. Did you learn more from the hub than you did from the answer?

    I think questions actually give other people something to think about which is probably the reason why this person made your question into a hub. If you think about it, how many times are you asked a question and think to yourself "hey, that would make a great blog" lol I know it happens to me all the time or when you are having a conversation with someone and the same thing happens. Dont think of it as stealing but more like borrowing and actually giving someone else and idea, which is a good thing. Besides, you might do the same thing one day!

    I answered a question recently about foster care. It made me think about evidence based MTFC foster care, which is a life saving program that normalizes high needs kids and teens,and that pays foster parents well, trains, retains and supports them.
    
    I've had almost 100 hits in 24 hours on the MTFC Hub. People are learning about this model who never would have heard about, if it wasn't for that question that I wrote a hub about.
