Why Do I Have to Keep Signing Into HubPages?

I used to log into HubPages and stay signed in for weeks.  Now I keep being asked to sign in over and over again.  It just happened without me even closing my browser.  This inconvience may cause me to use HubPages less.  What is with this sudden change in the login policy?

I don't know the answer, but I think it's happening to me too. More often than not I am having to sign in now, even though I keep ticking the box to remember the sign in.

Have you changed your computer operating system? I assumed in my case it was because I'd just recently got a new computer with Windows 7 instead of Windows XP, and an updated Internet Explorer, so I wondered if the problem was something to do with a change of operating system and tightened security measures, rather than any problem with HubPages?

Sorry I can't answer the question, but I'd also be interested to know why the sign in isn't being remembered every time, as it used to be.

I have been here ten months and have always had to sign in whenever I log onto the Internet. Not sure why you are experiencing a problem though without closing your browser. I have have checked the box that says keep me singed in and this does not seem to work.

I'm experiencing the same phenomenon. The assumption is Hub Pages has done it for security reasons. Perhaps they've had some account hacking. If so, then it's something that, though a minor inconvenience, should be welcome to us all.

I am checking the box to keep me signed in, but I am still being asked to sign in over and over again.  I figured it was some kind of security upgrade.  It's too bad that they can't recognize active user's IP addresses and not require them to sign in many times.  Good for security, but perhaps bad for business.

Like most signs that need to be signed into the connection times out after a certain amount of time most likely to protect against someone else tampering with your account. Many people may use public computers and forget to close the browser, etc.

Hi there. I asked a similar question a few days ago as I'm experiencing the same problems. The only time I seem to be able to get into HP without signing in is sometimes when I click on a link in the Hub Pages notifications e-mails. But as other commentators have said, it might be for security reasons and I hadn't thought about that.

I've had the same thing (after being "remembered" for years and not having to sign in).  I'm wondering if it has anything to do with recent browser updates.  I seem to have noticed a connection when it comes to when I first started to have the problem (if it's a "problem" at all).

Happens to me to, even though I tick "stay logged in/remember me" every. single. time.
