    Should HubPages have a direct video upload option?

    I've just got a list of movies I plan to review for HubPages, and plans for my web show "Carl the Critic" to be posted on the site. But the thing is I think that Hubpages should have an option to upload videos directly to HubPages, instead of uploading to Youtube and Vimeo and then posting it on a HubPages article. I want to know if there are other people on HubPages who feel the same way, who want to upload their own videos instead of uploading them to another site, and then posting them HubPages.

    Yes, I absolutely agree with your "wish." I would love the ability to bypass the middleman websites and upload my own videos myself. However, I would want such a system to feature a reduction in the ability of the viewer to download/rip my original videos. Maybe I'm asking too much!

    It would be beneficial to you to upload them to another site where you can gain views, followers and possibly some money.  Having them in two places will increase views, bring more traffic, and allow you to gain feedback from two different places.

    Plus, having to format the videos yourself to display correctly in your hub may cause confusion or your hubs to load slowly.

    I totally agree with you. I too wish I can have the option to upload my own video instead of using it in form of another website. I have lots of video I wish to share but I don't like to upload it on youtube and then put it on HP.

    I also agree. I would find it quicker and easier to download video rather than go through a middleman. I also think it would decrease broken links, as I noticed I occasional have to go and reload third party link as content get deleted or moved on those sites.

    I agree that would be a lot more convenient. Maybe we'll have that option sometime in the near future.

    @brittanytodd That is a good point, but the question was not to eliminate the option of youtube or vimeo, but to include an option that allows fellow Hubbers to upload their own material directly to HubPages instead of depending on other sites. Great answer though.

    @capricornrising Thanks for our feed back, and yes I agree, illegally ripping and downloading videos should be stopped.

    @Chantroth I'm glad you feel the same, and would like to see your videos once they are posted on HubPages.

    @somnambulist876 I agree broken links are a pain. I did that article on "Music in Horror Movies" and used Youtube clips as reference but because of copyright issues the video clips had to be removed from youtube and now I have no references to show what I mean.

    @THEHuG5 hopefully, we'll see smile

    I would like to thank all of you who have answered so far, all of you have made some very insightful comments and am glad to see that I am not alone on this.
