    HubPages a religious site?

Just asking because for someone that does not follow any religious hubs or anything of the sort I sure do read a TON of hubs that have religious based answers or ideals whether it be in politics, humor and the such, a lot of people have religious replies in this site. So, yes I am asking if this is a religious site that I just wasn't aware of before I signed up? Thanks all.

No, it is not a religious site. Although some seem to want it to become one. The majority of hubs are not religion based.

I don't see it as a religious site myself. Yes, there is a lot about religion but there is a lot about programming and cooking  and astronomy and..... It's one of these places that if you're interested in subject X then it's there for you!

I do not see it as a religious site, but I suspect because this a free platform for them to preach on about their ... stuff, they do so in every way possible, in every article they can get their hands on, even if the article had nothing to do with religion, they bring it back to religion.

I have stopped going to forums mostly because of all the religion ... nothing intelligent came from organized religion. (just my 2cents there).

The religious are just louder than the normal folk, kinda like minority rules cause they cry the loudest.

It only seems that way because there are a few hubbers who are, well lets just say, 'enthusiastic' about their beliefs and tend to pop up everywhere.

I don't do the forums as much either - as 'little two two' has already mentioned - really because it can be quite hard to ask a question at times without getting a sermon from an 'enthusiast'.

Having said that, the vast majority of hubbers who do have beliefs of one kind or another, are very normal, lovely, interesting people and are sane about their personal beliefs. It's only a very small minority who just about give themselves nervous breakdowns trying to get 'the message' across to all us non- believers/heathens at every possible opportunity.

But that's the way Hub Pages is, a free page to write on, and I wouldn't have it any other way. There are loads of other topics on the site that are fascinating and very informative. It's just a case of skipping over what you don't like.

There do seem to be a lot of religiosos here. However, I'm doing my best to bring as much Satan to HubPages as possible by writing almost exclusively about heavy metal music and horror movies. smile

    ...kidding, folks, I'm kidding!!!

Interesting perception.  I found it just the opposite here, finding a lot of atheists, agnostics etc. who tend to write again religion.  I think you will find a lot about religion and politics because people who write end to have strong opinions and feel the need to share them.  And it seems human beings love to argue and debate those hot button topics.

I believe that there are some people on this site who would try to turn it into a religious site, they often answer questions that have no relligious theme but then they have to bung in their bit about being one of God's children, whatever.

It was a genuine question because the topics I typically read and write about shouldn't have any religious connection but finding that a lot of people throw in their two cents worth whenever possible. Which, made me think that maybe I was on a religious site but didn't know I was. BTW I am not bitching about them preaching, I know they have the right to. Just asking, not complaining jackie.

No, but much of the population is religious or spiritual.

You cannot base that on the site being religious. I have to agree with Duffsmom. I find only a few  religious based hubs and I do read a lot of hubs. I find more political hubs than religion.

You also need to remember that the hub community is centered around people from all backgrounds. I hub hop every day and hardly see any religious based hubs at all.

No, hubpages is not a religious site. Yes, it does give everyone free hand to write about whatever he wants and to air his views.
