'm ending my 5th week and have gotten 1000 views. Is this good or should I be doing something else?

I am just ending my 5th week with HP and have gotten just under 1000 views. However the christmas abd new years weeks I didn't do anything. So in reality it was only three weeks. Is this common or do I need to adjust tag words.

I'm kind of in the same boat.  I've been here almost 4 weeks and will probably hit 1000 in a few days.  I've written 35 hubs!  Everybody says to wait it out because it takes Google awhile to recognize you, but it does seem like very little when I hear about the views other people get.  I'm going to give it some time and am hoping things will improve, but right now, I'm not happy, either.

Judging from the sampling of people answering your question ( including myself) it seems to be the case that this is common. Of course, I try to be as active as I an on HP, and share my Hubs on Twitter and the like, however it also seems likely that you are writing about topics people care about, and as newbies it takes a while to get "street cred" I'm not too worried about it, but I'm also not trying to make a living at it. Good luck with the advice you get here!

Actually that sounds pretty good to me. Just keep doing what you're doing and that should improve as you go along. Adding tag words can only help your hubs get found for more keywords so if you have more add them. Good luck to you.

I'm approaching 4 weeks or so and am hoping to get to that 1000 view mark in the next few days. I have only 5 hubs and have tried very hard to promote them as opposed to continuing to write. Now that I've learned a few things about backlinking, grouping hubs, and joined a few groups to share info, I am planning to generate some more hubs. I have spent many, many hours getting organized and educating myself and hope it pays off with becoming more efficient over time. I'm enjoying the education and the chance to share my insights, but some extra $$ would be great! Good luck and keep us posted.
