Can I just hub in hubpages without thinking of earning?

I notice that writers here are earning whereas I just write my thoughts and don't try to make them appear professionally written because I just express my self without thinking of earning; it's just one of my hobbies. In fact my topics are all about myself. I express myself and see what others think too.

Of course you can! Just set up a PayPal account to  catch any earnings that happen to come your way anyway through HubPages--you might as well keep money that you've earned.

Its good if you can focus thinking that hubbing is only as your hobby. I like to write also. But somehow we can deny that money is also mean recognition and value by others of what you can and just how good do it. I admire those hubber friend who can write good hub and earn money as well. I want to make money also.... :-(

If you enjoy writing and would like to make some friends then Hubpages is a great place to do it. Hubpages is structured in such a way that it is possible to make money from doing something you enjoy.

I write photography based articles and share my pictures on Hubpages because hubpages provides me with an outlet for my creativity.I dont care about the money side of things because thats not important to me.

I hope i have helped and i wish you good luck.

Absolutely!  I do what I want.  I do not care about earning and it was never my intention when I joined HP.  It's just to fun!  I also love asking questions just to see what crazy answers folks have!

You will definitely earn but your earnings rate will be slow. Because, often people come to internet for solutions. So if you consistently make great hubs that could solve real worlds problems, then your hub will be often read by people. Whereas your personal hubs are not often read or repeatedly read by many people. You can have a personal blog in blogger or WordPress.com.
If you like to earn more from hubpages, make useful hubs rather than personal hubs.
    Happy Hubbing!

While you can write Hubs without making earning a focus, creating content that is overly personal (you say your topics are all about yourself) is not what HubPages was created for and you may find that your Hubs get moderated and unpublished.

If you just want to write about yourself, you will be better off using a blog site for your content.

My hubs may be personal by nature but it is not really personal in essence; it's got moral lessons and guides to do things though I integrate them with my personal experiences. In essence I model what I teach through talking about my experience.
My personal experience in the subject matter is only an evidence that what I say or teach works for me in real life situation; it may or may not work with others but my experience proves that what I am talking about can happen.
Although I also want to earn in hubpages while having fun writing, I know that it is impossible for me because of my hackers who won't leave me alone. Even now, I am having an issue with the Security questions where somebody else gave answers that I don't know about. I am blocked for 24 hours. Unless somebody would help me out then I will just remain an unpaid hubber.

i was asking the same question when i joined HP recently coz its easier to write about something you know. but its not all about myself, its about things i see and experience everyday----about work, people...generally about life. i tried blogging in wordpress but its hard to get started.
