@ Sunasia22 - when I am hub hopping, I rarely get to see any topic I am following. It is a very eclectic selection - anything from poems, to short story, to travel, movie and book reviews, hubs written for personal gain (via website links!), tutorials (I seem to get more of those than any other). I follow health, metaphysics, diseases and conditions, some travel (usually foreign), and creative writing topics.
I think the object of giving you a variety of different topics is so that you can objectively evaluate and be exposed to all different topics that hubbers have to offer.
Another reason, I think, is to more or less subcontract to us (as hub hoppers) a small portion of HP's "work" every day, because trying to keep up with over 200,000 hubbers of which more than 50% publish per day is a monumental task.
@hoteltravel -cool question! In my hub hopping, I have only seen hubs that are 2 days old or less. I think it is understood that none of your own hubs will be included for your evaluation, because what would be the point -- you would pass it through w/o comment or flag! LOL. But, if it ever happens to you, I hope you let me know. :-)
