When asking questions on HubPages, do you post "thanks" or replies to people"s answers?
With the changes to the Q&A section of HubPages, I was wondering what the question etiquette is.
I do post replies and thank you's. I think it is good to have dialouge with followers and potential followers of your hubs. I love reading comments and knowing how my writing reached many. Sometimes it touches people and that makes it even more wonderful.
I usually say at the end of my question - thanks for all responses, but I do quite often leave a message saying another thank you.
This is great to know. I've received quite a few really helpful answers and I'd love to thank people for them (such as you two). Thanks!
Full replies are often seen as a much more polite and appreciative method of effectively saying "Thank you for your answer". However, if you do just leave a little "Thanks" as a reply to an answer, it's better than nothing at all.
Although I'd always find that if after I had helped another user, they thanked me properly I would be sure to follow them and read some of their content. *Hint* *Hint*
It's one's own choice... There's no such rule that says you have to..
However, you can say Thanks anytime just to show 'Gratitude'.
Actually, "Thanks" is a nice word !!
MickS's answer is the most accurate. The way Q&A is set up, the person asking the original question only gets ONE chance to reply, same as those leaving answers can only do so ONCE. So if you feel compelled to thank those who leave answers, you'll have to do it "in advance" under the question itself OR do a "group thank you" after several people have left answers...OR email a thanks to each hubber individually through HP.
The Q&A section was never intended to be a vehicle for ongoing discussions like in the Forums. It was intended as a way to give hubbers new topics to write about in full-fledged hubs.
If you meant your question to kick start a forum-type discussion, then you should've used it to start a forum thread instead. ;D
I agree with JamaGenee. From what I understand, if you come back to reply to your own question, it can be removed by a moderator. Sometimes they are overlooked because this area does not get a lot of flags. But if you want to say thanks you should do it when you asked the question.
As Jama also said, this section was designed to help people with writing prompts for new hubs. It was not really meant for personal questions.

When I look at the questions section of hubpages I see pages and pages of silly questions. A lot of the time, when I click on "unanswered" or "latest" I see that the same person has asked ten or so questions in a row. I suspect that in most cases this is because of the fact that...

Some hubbers are taking the mick with it. It's spamming. It's not allowed in the forums. If you want attention promote yourself according to good manners. Not by over spamming in the questions section.

So, are you just answering/asking questions to get an accolade? I am.

Why do prefer answering questions to asking questions? If the other way around then why do prefer that?

What do you feel we seek, by asking questions here on HP? Do you sometimes question our motives?
