How many followers is considered good?
I hit 100 this week and am not sure if that is considered good or not. I see many with thousands of followers. What's considered good?
well for me, the number of follows i have doesn't really matter as long as the followers are faithful to reading my work. Besides others outside the hubpages community might to get to see your work without joining , so it really comes down to how many views you get and not really your number of followers.
When I first started out, I considered TEN followers "fantastic"! lol!
One hundred IS good! Congratulations! And don't be intimidated if you see a hubber with thousands of followers, or even ONE thousand. Having that many usually only means a hubber has been around for awhile, say a year or more.
I don't really think there's such a thing as having a good number of followers. Currently, I have 45, and I've been here for about 3 months. Someone I've seen on here has been hubbing for just about the same time and has nearly 150. However, they have written far more hubs than I have, so in the grand scheme of things I'd say the following I have is pleasing to me. My reason is not so much how many people read my work, but rather the feedback I get. With probably the exception of a couple of hubs, I'll probably get between 3 to 6 comments for every hub I publish. Even though that's not a lot of comments for the number of followers I get, every feedback is incredibly positive and useful. It gives me encouragement that others out there care enough to come by, see what I have to say, and tell me what it is what they like about my work and why. This keeps me going with writing and helps me improve my work. So I would say try not focus so much on how many followers you get, but rather the quality of the feedback you receive from the ones who take the time to view your work.
That's a very good question and the answer to that could be many. I would think that the more followers you have the better. But I look at it from the the viewpoint that if you have followers that find your articles enjoyable, interesting, as well as usefull, then these are the most loyal and most valuable of all the followers you could possibly have. The most important thing here is to develop good friends and good quality writing. Both of which take a little time to develop. Good luck to you and happy hubbing!

Well, that depends on who you ask. Someone wrote a great hub - I think it was Alocsin - where he recommended 4,000 followers. The more followers means more views, and traffic drive income, so followers are a good thing. I also have a little over a hundred but I also get a fair number of views from search engines (thank goodness). Congratulations, 100 followers is in fact a lot of people, you must be doing something right!
There are hubbers who spend a lot of their time following others in the hope that they'll follow back.
I don't see what good it does, must of them probably never even look at your work.
Me, I'm happy with around a hundred, a few more one week, a few less the next.
I really don't give much thought to the right number of followers. It is similar to facebook friends, you could have 5,000 friends but in reality no friends at all. I have written for another site for years which did not have "followers" system and that is the site I have made the most money on ever. Also, how many followers actually read and comment on your work? It is logistically impossible for 1,000 followers to read all your work and comment on all your work especially if you think that they are also following 1,000 and are being followed by 1,000. Another thing if I had that many followers I wouldn't have the time to read all their work, as I said it is logistically impossible, or , rather, improbable.
I don't know if there is a magical number. You have followers as a result of what you write and how much you use social media. I have under 100. I have been here 6 months plus. Just keep writing and the followers will come.
The number of followers is immaterial if those people aren't actually reading your Hubs, or better yet, sharing them with their friends. One active and engaged follower is worth a lot more than 100 who don't do anything.
I don't think the number of followers on HubPages is the be all end all for marketing your pages. It is important to have social networking related to the topics that you are writing about as well. For some, the diversity of topics may be deterrent to having a large following, thus it is necessary to have social networks that fit within each category of topic that each of your articles address.

Dear New Fan. Thank you for recently following me and bringing my followers total up to 1700. I think the number 1700 looks a lot better than 1699 on my followers list and I have been hoping that this event would happen soon. Now you might think that 1700 followers is a big deal. Well, it is and it...

Today when I logged into my hubpages account after one day, I was surprised to see that now I have more than 800 followers following me and the traffic to my hubs which had been decreased to approximately 50% since last 5 or 6 days has again come to the same position. Thanks a lot my friends.

I am literally sick and tired of people who follow you, and then, when you follow them back, they promptly unfollow you. Really, people? What do you do when someone unfollows you shortly after you follow them? Do you hunt them down and unfollow them as well? Do you send them mail saying what they...

I am still new to Hubpages and have been enjoying a rather successful start. Thank you to those who have voted my articles up and those few of you who have begun to follow me. But I have noticed one thing of late and maybe it is the way it goes but I think it is disrespectful. I have commented on a...
