   Since S-E-X sells why can't we write about it and keep ads?
   
   I mean we all know that some of those topics can generate huge views. So why can't we write about them?

   I do understand your point. However, this is a strict "No-No" on this platform. Once the word "SEX" shows up in your topic the "eyes" of the system that automatically monitors reputable content for ads, popped wide opened and immediately a red flag is thrown up. Before you know, a $ sign will appeared beside that hub. This is just one of the many rules of hubpages that we all have to honor!

   This is likely just HubPages being extra careful.  Google will not put ads on anything sexually explicit and if they find out your platform does have sexually explicit content (words or images) they'll penalize the site.  Big sites like HubPages have to be really careful about that kind of thing so no sex at all.

   Selling sex was the first profession of mankind. As we have come a long way ever since there are many more lucrative topics to write about. Also the current generation practically has a lot of S-E-X and does not need any advice on the topic as such. With a little bit of thinking I feel you will agree with me.

      Just because they have a lot of it doesn't mean they are okay with what they are doing. There are special times in life when someone may need to seek advice, like when pregnant.

   I believe it is because of Adsense. Adsense does not allow its ads on sexually explicit material. You can get your Adsense account revoked for posting sexually explicit material, and as I understand it, one strike and you're out -- Adsense will not allow you to get another account. So really HubPages is just trying to keep Adsense happy and follow their rules, because it would be financially catastrophic for HubPages to be excluded from Adsense. Of course some articles of a sexual nature are educational, for example how to prevent pregnancy or STDs, and I believe these are allowed but I'm not certain exactly where Adsense draws the line between education and porn, lol.

   You can write about it, but your advertisers do not want to be associated with sexual content. There are ways to use sex to increase traffic to your hubs, but it does have to be done with the advertisers in mind if you want to derive revenue from your hub.

   I write about it and have only had one article with ads taken down.  Just have to write around the issues.

   i think it's  because sex is used every where else and the people who run this site want it to be different. sex is a part of life but like many subjects, on here it's taboo.
