What do you do to promote your hubs and where do you primarily focus?
I see a lot of suggestions for sharing your hubs on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Pin It, Digg, share on HubPages, etc., but is it really so advantageous to share in all these places. My intuition is telling me that the best place to share is here on HubPages where we have an interested and active audience. I do share on Facebook also if it's an article I feel most everyone will be interested in because I have so many followers there (currently 2853), but my statistics show that sharing here on Hubpages is the most effective place. What are your insights and findings on this?
Search engine traffic is far and away the most valuable traffic.
I guess it matters most what your goals are....If you want followers and comments, then hanging out here all day and making friends would be the thing to do.
"Dofollow" backlinks still have more value than "nodofollow" backlinks,
Yep, I hardly ever get much in the way of meaningful views from my Facebook friends....unless they just happen to be interested in whatever the subject happens to be.
When I get Facebook traffic...it is most often a total stranger that simply had a strong interest in something I'd wrote about.
....but what do I know?
I do fairly well here...but nowhere near as well as I think I should be doing.
Thank you for your feedback. I guess most of us probably would like to do better than we actually are; it's in our nature to want more than we already have and why we strive so hard to earn even more.
You're right I think, Hubpages is a great place for sharing. Having those initial responses does help build up momentum for life out on the internet. Facebook likewise for certain hubs (how do you get 2853 followers!?).
I promote on Stumbleupon which has given some traffic in the past and Pinterest for the visual, but the others you mention I haven't got round to trying.
With certain hubs I submit the url to google and bing and also ping them, which is supposed to help with search engine crawling and therefore give your writing a boost when it comes to page ranking. But I don't know for definite if it works - I'm only doing what seems to be recommended out there on forums and in articles written by people in the know.
I guess common sense tells us that if you have large numbers of followers you'll get more 'publicity' for your writing, more responses and if it's what you want, more revenue!
Thank you for your response. Regarding your question about how I got 2853 followers on Facebook, I built that up over many years by joining groups and inviting people with similar interests to form a connection with me and also by accepting invites.
I use a variety of sites; I really do think variety is the key to promoting your work online. While Google traffic is my number one source, I also get high reads from HubPages, followed by Facebook.
I agree that HubPages is a great place to share your hubs. As well, I connect with hubbers out on the Web too; we share each other's work on various sites.
I hope that helps you.
Wow Christy - I am in awe of your writing ability and amazed to see that you have published 110 hubs in only 9 months. You rock!!!

I am writing articles for this website since past 3 months. At present, I have 38 featured and published hubs. I have joined for Amazon and google Adsense program. Past two months I earned like very less amount, less than 1/2 dollar. If I continue writing and publishing at the rate of one article...

When I joined here a couple weeks ago I thought I could write hubs that others may benefit from and I in turn could read others interesting hubs. I guess I was naive as it seems no one will read my hubs unless I spend a lot of time promoting them, which requires first learning how to...

I log on every day, and it seems that I always find negative things popping up in the forums. I am sorry that so many people are struggling on HubPages. From SEO issues to having popular hubs unfeatured for a multitude of reasons, it seems very discouraging for any newcomers. When I first got here...

Hi guys, I'm hoping for some advice. Basically here's my issue: I enjoy writing informative articles that I believe will be useful to people. However, I can't stand promoting my hubs. The thought of spending my time scouring the Web looking for places to post it, opening tons of social media...

I'm really interested in what makes my "best hubs" the "best." Some of them are pretty low as...far as a traffic count goes, but I'd imagine that those have more unique content. I'm positive that traffic and hubscore are mutually exclusive, and that comments have...
