Have you ever had a hub go viral?

I logged in today to see a hub of mine get about 5,000 views in one day. Good for me but am shocked as this is a huge jump (a 100% jump) over previous activity. Has this ever happened to you?

No not for me.  I'm pleased with slow but steady traffic to a thing.

Word of advice - do not make the mistake of stating too publicly which hub of yours has got that success.  You do not want someone to know which - as there are plenty of folks that would love to copy or spin your hub, and steal your deserved income from it.

      Thanks W.T.S.
Thanks for the tip. I will be careful about letting out the identity of my hub wink I do know that I use SEO to my advantage and can guess why this took off based on my recent push to market the hub...guess I have to write more like it!

I can't say that I have ever had a hub go viral, although I can tell by occasional jumps in traffic counts when a hub has been shared/linked by someone with a busy web site or a lot of facebook/twitter followers.

I wouldn't even know how to "make" something go viral... I tend to focus on encouraging "organic" links from around the web, and on keeping my articles edited to always contain current information.

Cool that you had that happen, though!

      Thanks Denmarkguy,
I don't think I planned this. It just happened thanks to Facebook. I do optimize SEO but none of my other hubs have shot off like this so my guess is that it is due to Facebook liking and sharing.

      Awesome Somethgblue,

I think I can credit my success to Facebook and I probably see it go down after time like yours did.

I have one that has 2k on it one day and 50 views the next. It bounces back and forth. I'm thinking there's a glitch in the system on my hub.

      Lynn,
I was waiting out to see what happened, It was definitely a Facebook like or share, I did not drop to 50 the next day but it was not 5000 either, try 800, lol. Anyway, I will take it while I can get it.

What to say about myself? My hubs hardly get 10 views a day. When some of them get 50 views, I used to thing that it went viral. Anyway, congratulations for having 5000 views on a single hub.
