   Do recipe hubs draw a lot of traffic?
   
   I like to cook and have contemplated doing a recipe hub for something different.  Do they perform well? It seems like they would with things like Pinterest to promote them, but I wanted opinions from some recipe hub writers out there

   I am a fan of recipe hubs. I have several and have also written a hub about writing them and how they can drive traffic to not only your recipe pages but also to your other pages as well.
   
   Recipe hubs  are evergreen. Everyone eats everyday and they are always looking for inspiration.
   As you have said, Pinterest is a great place to promote.I also use Twitter with something catchy such as "You are only 5 minutes away from eating chocolate cake. Go!"
   
   I hope I have persuaded you to write some recipe hubs, you will be glad you did.
   I can't wait to read them.

      Thanks I'll check out your hubs also.  I agree they definitely are evergreen pretty much except for maybe recipes geared to specific seasons or holidays.  I'll probably give some a go soon! thanks

   Yes, my recipes do quite well on Hubpages, but I have noticed that some are extremely seasonal. For instance my dip recipes got hundreds of hits around the time of the Super Bowl, but has slowed to a crawl the last few months.  My other recipes Hubs do well too, but most of the hits come rushing in around holidays.  I hope this helps!

      I could definitely see how they would do well around the holidays and super bowl - makes total sense.  Glad yours do so well even if it is seasonal

   I only have a few recipe hubs so far.  For me, some of my other hubs are doing better than the recipe ones, but I will not give up on doing both types.  I like reading the recipe ones, especially ones that are accompanied with a tempting photo.

   if they get pinned they can do fairly well. they don't get the big pop of a news type story but they don't fade away as quickly either. 5 of my recipe hubs average about 25 to 40 views a day all from search engines. the catch is 2 of them were published months ago.  They don't get a ton of traffic but they get steady constant traffic. Also seasonal dishes fluctuate as well. for example my article on frozen custard has taken off in the last month with the hot weather. but in winter it would get maybe 10 views a week.

      The steady constant traffic is good though, that's a pretty respectable amount of views per day for a recipe hub I'd think.  Glad they are working for you.  I can believe the frozen custard in the last month! it's been a hot one!

   I've noticed recipe hubs and DIY hubs attract most people. Two of the things I'm not so great with! I guess because people are always cooking and looking for new ways to make their meal even better and if yours is good enough, the traffic will keep pouring in for years to come. Pinterest definitely does help when you're trying to promote recipes and DIY projects!

      I agree, I have several DIY hubs - a couple that are food related actually, that do pretty well.  (sun dried tomatoes for example) Tutorials do pretty well also I've found.  I agree with Pinterest - I'm  addicted to it lol.  Thanks for commenting
