What would you do if one of your hubs is found as "duplicate"?

   What would you do if one of your hubs is found as "duplicate"?
   
   It is said that the issue of duplicate content at "HubPages" is completely separate from issues of plagiarism or copyright. All that it means is that we found text very similar to what is contained in this Hub elsewhere on the Web.
   
   If this happened to you - will you still insist to edit and correct it - then resubmit it for publication and wait at least for 72 hours for approval? Or delete it from HubPages site and offer it to other paying publishing sites?

   If its truly duplicate changing it shouldn't be that difficult for anyone. There are more then one way to "change" the body of a hubpage so its different enough to be considered as unique - it is done quite a bit by hubbers who write about politics and serious issues who have to paraphrase facts in the arguments they make.

   I've only gotten the "duplicate content" warning once and it was sort of my own fault. I was a fairly new Hubber at the time and I re-posted an album review I'd written for an e-zine six or seven years prior. I made a couple of tweaks/changes to it before republishing it as a Hub, but I guess I didn't change it enough cuz it got banged for Duplicate Content. The e-zine I wrote the review for was long gone by this point but I guess there must still be a copy of that review floating around somewhere out there on the Web. Who knew? Rather than get all bent about it I just deleted the whole thing and started something fresh. Live and learn...

   If a hub is seen as duplicate content that means it appears elsewhere online. A pay for publishing site would not accept it either.

   I just experienced a warning about duplicate content. I had a Squidoo article that I felt could use the exposure here because it is packed with facts. Unbeknownst to me, it must still be on the web, despite its status as "work in progress." So, when I tried to publish it, I received the red "duplicate" warning and also the information that it was not going to be published due to duplicate content on Hubpages or elsewhere.
   
   I immediately went to Squidoo to delete the article. About 3 hours later, I noticed that the word "duplicate" was gone. Then, I was able to publish the article.It is now pending for the "featured" status, but at least it can be read and found on Hubpages.
