Have you estimated how much you earn per hour writing hubs?

Some people write hubs purely for the fun of it.  Others write hubs to make extra money.  Either way, your earnings are an objective way to measure your success writing hubs.  Have you estimated how much you earn per hour writing hubs?

Zero and zero and lots more zero's.   I don't care about earning.

You cannot measure what you earn by the hour, because the earnings from your hubs are on going, if it takes you 2 hours to write a hub and you earn constantly from that hub then your actual hourly earnings will be half your all time earnings from that particular hub, so if that hub makes you for example $1000 every year then after 5 years you will have made $5000 for 2 hours work......jimmy

because I do it for residual income for the life of the hub - it's impossible for me to measure an hourly rate on it.   I will say that my adsense money between my websites, hubs, and other things almost pays my mortgage now each month and to me that's a load off my mind! smile

I have not kept track of my time, although now I wish I had. I think a running tally of hours worked and earnings per month would give a nice snapshot of hourly earnings over time. However, it would take some time for the data to be meaningful.

The more data, the more meaningful or accurate the rate would be. For example, this month I have already exceeded the payout level but have only put a few hours into one published hub, so I have a high hourly rate this month. Next month I may publish more but my earnings probably won't be much higher so my hourly rate will be lower. But the more months of data I have compiled together, the more accurate the hourly rate will be. At least I will have an idea  if I am earning 10 cents an hour or $10 an hour.

So I think it's possible to estimate an hourly rate for an entire body of hubs, but not how much each specific hub earns for the hours put into that specific hub.

I'm competing with myself to see how fast I can make payout, so I'm working it. Still, though, I think my average per hour right now is about $0.0000012. Still working on it! wink

I have not tried to do this.  Being new to writing, I think if were to estimate how much I earn per hour that it would discourage me from writing.
