Well, on 24 hubs, down to 1 view per day! Suggestions?

Highly discouraged at this point, almost thought about switching to another site. Love it here though and hopefully there are others facing this too. Any suggestions to try or is it a common thing right now?

Hi - whilst I cannot say why this is happening, I can say that it is happening to me also. I am in the midst of a long lull.  It could be so many reasons - time of the year, age of hubs etc.  The first time this happened to me (yes it's been twice now) I wanted to throw in the towel but I stuck it out and I rose again to even greater numbers. Then crash again. I'm hoping this cycle does not continue too often but you are not alone.  What other sites are you considering?

The crash you speak of occurred to me as well, last year, right after Labor Day. My hub views dropped to almost zero. This lasted 3 weeks,; then the page views started to increase again, with # of views exceeding what I was getting before the slump.

It takes time to start seeing a significant number of page views - more like 6 months instead of the 6 weeks you've been here. Be patient, give it time, and continue to write quality content.

This is the peak of year for Americans taking vacations and doing stuff outdoors, especially with the heat being so bad in so much of the country.  If you wait a few weeks, until after the Labor Day weekend holiday, what you get then is lots of folks back at work, kids back at school and the entire run-up to the holidays starts.  That's a general web trend that's happening.

Other than that, your stuff is only 6 weeks old at most, so that's barely been found by most search engines and is only beginning to get a web audience.  Admin has said their stats shows it will take three years for a Hub to fully mature in terms of traffic and audience reach.  If you are trying to invest in this site with your writing, you've got several years to go still....

To get significant traffic you need to aim for the low-lying fruit.  Do a bit of research on the "Google Keyword Tool" and use it to create hub titles.

You'll want to try to find keywords using this tool that are searched 500 to 4000 times a month.  When you have found a few that you like, check the competition for that keyword.  You can do this by searching the keyword in Google with it framed in "" like this: "sample keyword".

Once you have searched it this way you want to see ideally less than 30,000 results and no more than 80,000 total results.  If your keyword still fits this criteria you should visit the pages on the first page and look at the quality.  Ask yourself if you know more about that subject or if you could provide the information in a more useful manner.

If you find that you can, you should go ahead and write a quality hub.  Be sure to use at least 500 words and a minimum of 1 picture.  Do your best to use more capsules like maps and charts to make your content more engaging.

If you follow these few short rules you should see an increase in traffic.  No guarantees, but I am hopeful that you will see more than 1 page view a day.

I would suggest you should just keep trying and don't give up on Hubpages. You should keep writing hubs to try and boost your views temporarily and eventually in the long run.  If this doesn't seem to work, you can leave Hubapages for a bit and come back later, you may be surprised. I left my hubpages for a few months and came back to see thousands of views on one of my hubs.

Don't let it get you down, you are really new. I've only been here for four months but I'm seeing my traffic getting better every day. Do you promote your Hubs on Facebook, Twitter, etc? I think your titles are good for Google. When the summer's over, you will likely start seeing the traffic pick up. I promise you that it will pay off if you stick with it.

Like everyone is writing RustedWho, you should not worry about the low down for now.

As a matter of fact forget about the views and concentrate on new hubs while using Kgala advice. Get the right words and right as many hubs. When the folks are back, you will go soaring.

    Good luck.
