   Should there be a quality standards policy for submissions in the Hubpages Questions section?
   
   I've noticed a few Hubpages members use a great deal of bad grammar and/or txt abbreviations when posting a question in the Questions section here at Hubpages. Some of these Questions are so poorly written or littered with slang that I feel they may take away from the overall professional presentation of the site. Do you think there should be a quality standards policy set into place for public Questions submitted by members?

   There are standards in place, and they are community enforced.  This means it is up to the site users to report (flag) problems for admin to review using the built-in flag feature.  So when you see a problem you either can choose to flag it, or accept it and ignore it.

      Hi relache,
      I've always reserved the flag option for Hubs or other items I have found abusive in some manner, and bad grammar or txt'n -as much as I dislike it- just doesn't seem to be in the same ball court as deliberate abuse.

      That was how HubPages admin designed this section to work, and they give a clear list of reasons to flag questions.  If you don't want to use the tools they provide, then you'll just have to put up with questions that devalue the site.

   I have to agree, though we all make mistakes or errors some questions don't even make sence because they are so poorly written. I personally don't like to flag unless absolutely necessary but some hubbers really should take more time in thinking about and asking their questions.

      Thank you DS, and you're very right. And it would be wrong for me to think anyone can flawlessly use correct grammar every single time they sit down to write. I'm just tired of seeing what appears to be pure indifference or laziness from a few.

   I think a lot of people who use Hubpages do not have English as a first language, so it's important to be understanding when it comes to cases of bad spelling/grammar. When it comes to flagging a Hub or question, I only do that when I find the content in question truly appalling or offensive.

   there are. I think that most of us write 'wow,nice,great hub' to every cliche and copied content in hub pages. We must write what we feel like and respect others also

   I've seen questions removed for what I assume is poor grammar, racism, vague questions, etc. Hubpages does take steps to maintain a quality, respectable site. If any vulgar loafers want to spew their hate and outrage on the Internet, there's plenty of other Blog sites that allow that.
   
   Any outrage here needs to be done so in a reasonable fashion otherwise my flagging finger comes out. I use it, but not much; most writers in here have a good concept of the expectations of the content allowed.
   
   I've found that people who have poor prose and grammar tend to write a few Hubs then fade away. Nothing wrong with that. Good writing takes effort and writing isn't everyones first activity. It's the hate spewing trolls that I make an extra effort to shut down. Trollage is more common in the Q&A than the Hubs.
