   Why do you write hubs? Money, fame, enjoy writing, personal cleansing?
   
   Writing hubs is a fantastic way for me to unwind after work, and at the same time have a third-party attributed value assigned to that writing, which lets me also fulfill some competitive aspect of my personality.
   
   Why do other writers here do it? Is it to make money, or for personal counselling and stress release, or just for fun? Want to win hub awards, become famous?
   
   Give us the real nitty gritty behind your reasoning....

   This is a great question!  I started out writing hubs for money, but now I do it because I enjoy it.  I also enjoy the social aspect of HP.

   I love writing. It provides stress relief for me. I know that I am probably not the best writer out there, but writing provides an outlet for me to say things that I wouldn't necessarily speak. I love sitting in my recliner at the end of the day, researching and writing a piece.

      Agree wholeheartedly. Writing takes my mind off whatever may be lingering in my mind after work and sort of cleans the slate.

   It certainly isn't money.  I enjoy writing an article and refining it until it appears ready to publish and I enjoy people reading it and commenting.

      I always wonder about the financial aspect because so many of the people writing here seem far more talented than general reports on income would suggest. Enjoy and thanks for sharing...

   I've always enjoyed writing but never found an outlet for it that I felt comfortable with till I came here. I'm not expecting to get rich or famous, I'm just glad that someone other than my immediate family reads my stuff.

   This has changed for me several times since I started writing on hub pages. I believe this can be true for many. In the end I use hub pages as a learning and teaching tool.
   
   The hub pages community is great. Many of the people who I considered personal friends no longer write here. They left shortly after the first Panda changed their hubbing world. There are still days when hub pages takes more of my workday than I can afford to spend here.
   
   I have been sharing a hub a day for a while now. I have always shared, just not daily before. When I do share I try to stay within my business niche. There are times when I see something so great I just have to share it. Some are way outside my business niche.
   
   Having my writing published without waiting a week for my articles to pass muster has been one of the reasons I still write here when I can find the time. I let the hubbers decide what has value and what does not.
   
   Writing has become a passion. It is not something I enjoyed in the past. There have been a few people who want me to pull certain hubs and create a book using their material and the rest of the story. Time holds me back.

   My number one reason is because of the possibility of making extra money. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. I'm making about $4-$5 a month with the handful of hubs I have up and I don't consider myself a great writer so I'd say that's pretty good. I seriously need to kick my butt in gear and write some more but I over analyze my ideas because I don't want to put just any old thing up for the sake of adding more content. I worry too much about things like that so that is something I need to work on lol...
   
   I am also the type of person that loves to learn. Most of my interest is in the medical field and psychology, but I like learning about just about anything. My friends pick on me for being a nerd and a geek and I guess I am, but at least hubpages gives me an excuse to learn about things I might not have a reason to learn about otherwise. I can say to myself "hey I think I'll write something about ___" so then I have an actual *reason* to do some research.  
   
   I have also recently started writing about my personal issues with bipolar disorder so I guess that would be a third reason I enjoy writing here. It's kind of cathartic, I guess. It's a highly misunderstood illness and I feel that maybe if I combine my personal experience with the more medical/scientific knowledge I've gained throughout the years maybe I can help a few people understand it better.
   
   It also forces me to do my best as far as writing goes. Like I said, I'm not the best writer but practice makes perfect. I'm also learning about SEO and social media, etc. and I enjoy that as well.
   
   And this isn't really a reason for writing but I just enjoy the hubpages community in general. I almost always learn something new every day here and I really enjoy commenting, responding to comments, sharing interesting hubs I've come across, etc.
   
   I'm no expert on revenue share writing sites but I've been on a few others and I think hubpages has a great thing going on here. On a lot of other sites people just tend to post their articles and sit back and hope the money pours in. Of course money doesn't pour in from any type of site immediately (not even here) but at least on hubpages there are OTHER reasons to write here and I think that is where a lot of similar sites fail.

   Enjoy writing and money. However, I don't have time during the school sessions to write a hub every other day. So I try to write one a week.

    I write hubs to make money.  If I did not make any money from it I would not be writing hubs.  However I like doing it.  If I had lots of money I would write hubs to help people and because I enjoy doing it.  When I came across HubPages I was looking for some ways to make money.  I like that I can improve myself or just do something fun, write a hub about it and then make a little money.  While making hubs I have accomplished things I could not do before.  For example I did handstand push ups for the first time while working on a hub.  My abs look good and my tricep muscles are the biggest they have every been.

    I began writing on Hubpages as basically I'm a story teller -- and having lived a lot of years have a lot of tales to tell. I've been invited to share my stories around campfires, with other story tellers, etc. but that has no appeal whatsoever. Having always written -- everything from commercial copy to obituaries -- it just seems natural to sit down, type it out and share my stories with others. I make a bit from my writing but not enough to brag about -- money's never been the biggy for me. Now, the novel I've written -- yep, gonna hold out for the money on that one! Excellent question.
