Why didn't the picture I have on a hub transfer when I posted on Facebook and Pinterest?

I have a new hub that I was posting on facebook and the photo did not transfer with the URL?

Hi Carol, I find if you use the short URL found in the stats or the link to this page option on the bottom of the page, the picture will show up.

Thank you for the response and now I have to figure out why I go absolutely no comments..Which is strange.

Carol, I've found that there is no picture sent from the hub by using the standard link url during the first 24 hour period.  I always take the link that comes up immediately after publishing which usually has a "?done" (at the end of the url) and copy and paste it to FB and others.  There are some sharing programs that work, but I've not had the luck with them that others have.  Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response so quick. What really bothered me was that I go absolutely no views and with these Astrology topics they start immediately..

Not just FB and Pinterest, but also G+, Delicious and many other bookmarking sites! Delicious used to work with almost 100% reliability, but it never picks up my opening images now!

For Pinterest, I find it much better to use my Pin bookmarklet, and select the photo/image I want to represent the hub - the first image, is not necessarily the best to pin.

Low and wide images are a problem for many sites. Even the gallery view here doesn't view all of the low-and-wide images, typically used as horizontal rules and opening banner photos.

Other problems that I've encountered are more intermittent - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
    - Posting too soon after publishing can 'miss' the opening image.
    - Referral links can cause problems for sites to automatically grab a photo.
    - Very tall, or very wide photos may be ignored, as they violate the square thumbnail format.

I shall have to try Susan's short URL trick, as I'd given up with getting my photos to show.

That happens sometimes....use the link at the very bottom of the page....it says "share this link" or something like that...copy and paste that one and the picture will show up.

I have had this happen to me more than once. Sometimes it doesn't appear right away and then when you try sharing the link later it will appear. Sometimes when you post a link on FB you may have to click on an arrow next to Thumbnail and the image will show up.

Hi,  I am having the same problem.  For my own FB I just drop in the picture myself.  So far,  if I wait a bit I can get the pic to transfer.  As you can imagine I am allowed to post on various chile (fruit not country) and other SW FB pages.
I wonder if FB is trying to clamp down on this?  Someone else will know more to add to this.....

Perhaps it was a picture that was copyrighted? Just a thought...

No that was not the problem as it was copywrited by me. Years ago. Thanks for the idea.
