I may have one or two among my Hubs, but I'm not even sure about that. I generally don't use them for a few different reasons (although I'm NOT saying that using them isn't the good idea that so many people, including HP, seem to think/say they are). Here are my reasons for not using them:
1) A lot of my subjects don't necessarily lend themselves to something like a poll. I don't want to add a poll for the sake of adding a poll.
2) I've often answered polls on Hubs, then checked "results", only to find that I'm apparently the only one who answered the poll, and I'm the "100%" who voted one way or another. I don't know.... I don't get the feeling a lot of people bother with answering them.
3) When I first started on HubPages there were things Hubbers were encouraged to put on their Hubs (like news feeds). Then when it turned out they "weren't good" for Hubs HP stopped making them available. Then there were links to other Hubs we could put in. A bunch of people left, and that meant having to go over 300-plus Hubs (I've since trimmed them out)and getting rid of tons of broken links. So, I'm reluctant to add anything to a Hub that runs the risk of suddenly being discontinued if/when, for example, Google shows signs of "not liking it".
4) Google has its own agenda, and HP has its. I'm not entirely convinced that Google wouldn't see the polls as being something that's just being added "for entertainment value" or "page-staying value" only, rather than being something that adds substance/quality to the writing. Of course, if social linking and traffic is the aim, rather than hoping Google "likes" a subdomain then I guess the poll thing is less risky (and is probably a good idea).
Don't go by me, though. My traffic hasn't been all that hot over the last couple/few months anyway. What I don't know, though, is whether it's something I'm doing on here or elsewhere (which it may be because I'm always doing something with my online writing and taking my chances), whether it's something that HP doesn't like or something that Google doesn't like, or whether I'm just like so many others who have seen a big drop in traffic for reasons other than anything any one person does or doesn't do.
All I know is that if I search for information and/or just something to read I don't want to run into something with a poll that has nothing to offer but how many people voted one way or another on one Hub. BUT, I'm often out of sync with what a lot of people do.
